is Joanna Newsom's music "normie music"?
I need to know
it is now
women are gonna be copying joanna newsom's style like crazy 5 years from now
just wait
My mom is the person that introduced me to Newsom. She also likes: Eels, Iron & Wine, Andrew Bird, fucking every white guy with an acoustic guitar. You tell me if that's normie.
I'M GOING OFF THE RAILS
On a what?
Ozzy was never good, it's just that he knew how to find great guitarists (Iommi, Rhoads, Wilde, Bucket Head, etc)

>Bucket Head
This album is a solid fucking hour of the most delicious, scrumptious, and completely delectable ear candy money can buy. It runs the gauntlet, from subdued white noise to deafening clicks. It's the kind of stuff that will always make me feel energized after hearing it, even if it isn't particularly eventful.
After two short(ish) tracks open the album with a hefty atmosphere, and really gets the sound of the album across to you. Right after that, the album hits you with its thirty minute glitch opera centerpiece. This track is an incredible journey from beginning to end, almost feeling cinematic or even emotional. Eleven sections of wildly different textures and atmospheres pass by throughout the track, and it stays entertaining through the whole thing.
Real good shit.
This album is basically an homage to Naked City in case you havent heard it.

I just realized there's a typo in the review. i'll get to editing the one on the RYM page.
Mr. Bungle is the most basedist band in the world. I was hanging out with this guitarist the other day and we were getting real heavy into our musical discussions and stuff and we ended up at Mr. Bungle through a Dunn collaboration and neither of us had much to say other than laughing at how fucking good they are.
Honestly I'm glad /mu/ is growing up and moving towards Bunglecore.
I usually opt not to listen to Volante since my tolerance for abrasive music has definently gone down since age 16, but I still love it in my heart. I think California is my favorite,...

This album is amazing. It makes me feel nostalgic for early mornings when I was a kid. Geogaddi makes me feel the same way.

What does /mu/ think of arctic ambient?
ARCTIC AMBIENT IS A FUCKING SHIT GENRE THAT BASES ITS ENTIRE SOUND ON PUTTING THE COLORS BLUE AND WHITE ON EVERY ALBUM COVER. THE ENTIRETY OF THE SCENE IS FILLED WITH NIHILISTIC FUCKTARDS WHO ARE TOO FUCKING EDGY TO HAVE THEIR MUSIC LABELED AS "WARM DRONE" EVEN THOUGH THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT FUCKING IS. EVERY ARCTIC AMBIENT ALBUM THAT I HAVE HEARD IS DERIVATIVE BULLSHIT THAT IN NO WAY WARRENTS A SUBGENRE OF IT'S OWN, OH WHOOPEE YOU FUCKING MADE SOME SYNTHS PLAY OVER FUZZY STATIC THATS LITTERALLY REGULAR FUCKING WARM DRONE MUSIC YOU FUCKING MEME. IF YOU PUT...

Hard rock, heavy metal and punk has a metric shit ton of literature written about it, mostly ethographies. That quote is from >http://www.amazon.com/Tape-Delay-Confessions-Eighties-Underground/dp/0946719020
