Anyone here play electric guitar? I want to start playing it but have no idea which electric guitar to get. I read on about Epiphone Les Paul Special II, and the reviews were mixed. Either people really liked it as their first guitar, or absolutely despised it. Main complaint was it being out of tune most of the time. Would anyone recommend this for a beginner? If not, what other electric guitar would you recommend? Don't want to spend too much money on my first electric guitar that I probably can't even play well yet.

Definitely get a 'Les Paul' then. However I'd recommend a LTD 'EC' over an Epiphone. Much better guitars imo.
Serious question, why is this album so overrated here?
Bleach or Spiderland? Bleach is pretty good but I never see it mentioned on here so I assume Spiderland, which is actually a great album that kinda got Seinfeld-ed because everyone tried to make their "muh crescendo" album after hearing this. Nosferatu Man is the only eh song on that album, Don Aman and Washer especially are incredible.
Nirvana or Slint?
I always wonder this about Slint. I really like math rock and post-hardcore things, but never found them anything special.

No. There's no rulebook. Singing is a way to get a sound out, if that doesn't work then you find another way to get that sound.
