When posting an album, make sure to post the FULL LINK for it (if you're posting a link from MEGA, THIS INCLUDES THE DECRYPTION KEY TOO) along with a sample of the album from YouTube (or just upload a track to clyp.it if there's nothing on YouTube), album art, as well as the name of the artist and album. This makes it easier for people to find these albums in the archive after the thread has 404'd.
Feel free to request, but make sure to be polite and post...

Why do people rate this guy so highly? I see comments all over his videos on youtube saying how he's the best rapper, some go as far to say the best musician of this generation. What has he exactly done well? His rapping is mediocre and his lyrics are like a 6th graders attempt at poetry. If he was in the 90s he would be 6/10/.

The rhymes have nice metaphors that make sense, he talks about real issues instead of weed, bitches n drugs and it's very well produced.
Could you share any actual reasons for not liking him and why his poetry sucks? Share examples.
What would you call good rap?
Even this more pop music has a cool message. Of how social pressure makes us drink or smoke too much to look cool and feel accepted by others:

Why do adults listen to metal? Is there a relationship between mental retardation and enjoying metal?
haha
>>61766726
They listen to it cause they like it.
There probably isn't a relationship.
>>61766726
Because metal is a genre of music
musical genres have listeners of all ages

The best way to listen to this album is to turn the bass up desu. Makes it so much more 'full' sounding.

I liked "Fucked" for the nauseous groove I mentioned last thread, and also "I'll See You In Hell" for how much it moved around compared to the other tunes. Saxophones and guitars form like this really raw, discordant, but oddly cohesive instrumental bit in the middle. It was cool, man.
Now I'm on Possession hearing "Fucked" and it sounds considerably cleaner, like the last one was one to go crazy over, and this one hangs in the background for a more relaxed feeling, it sounds more hypnotic than sick.

Let me also not forget Ten..
I liked Bowie for many years before his death. But a big part of his successes was because of his theatrics, image and social ability. Musically, he's not extraordinary. And he wasn't very original either. He owes A LOT to his collaborators Mick Ronson, Tony Visconti, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Carlos Alomar, Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, among others, all of whom were probably more artistically accomplished than he was.
Many people hold him so dearly today as well because he seemed like a really "nice guy". Let's just acknowledge these facts.
Oh yeah? Well in my opinion, you're a nigger
Oh, this shit again...
Can we finally admit that Piero Scaruffi is a pretentious hack who doesn't know the first thing about music or art in general?
If anything I've realized he's most patrician

i dont know if it's the best place to start, but there's a really incredible documentary on him that will give you a great understanding of his body of work called 30th Century Man.
