When posting an album, make sure to post the FULL LINK for it (if you're posting a link from MEGA, THIS INCLUDES THE DECRYPTION KEY TOO) along with a sample of the album from YouTube (or just upload a track to clyp.it if there's nothing on YouTube), album art, as well as the name of the artist and album. This makes it easier for people to find these albums in the archive after the thread has 404'd.
Feel free to request, but make sure to be polite and post something before requesting (preferably something not already in the archive). This is a share thread, after all, emphasis on share.
If you're looking for an album, check the archive (https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/) before posting or requesting something, it might already be available. Type in the band name, the album name, as well as the word MEGA or ZIPPY and it might show up.

"the house that Trane built"!
I haven't gone through it so thoroughly though - but almost all the big labels seem like they've released so much music you could just listen to it for years before reaching the end of it all. I'm still undecided about whether this is a good thing or not...

post your music players, rate others' music players, offer suggestions on music players, and have fun.
I like having a lot of sorting options

Somebody else took his place, and bravely cried

This would be a 10/10 without the whole lo-fi thing, what a waste.

actually without the integral factor of the low fidelity, it would have maybe 1/2 the power

This album is pretty overrated in my eyes. A lot of people regard it as the greatest release by Wu-Tang but I don't see what other people see I guess.
See the other members of Wu-Tang have a defined style and aesthetic which gives their music a unique flavor, Method Man is the weed smoking party rapper, Ghostface Killah is a bad ass kingpin ladies man, Ol Dirty Bastard has this off the wall anything goes almost experimental thing going on, Raekwon has grounded gritty street oriented lyrics, but GZA? He sometimes references chemicals or astronomical stuff so people say he's intellectual. His album just isn't as defined as the others are, it doesn't have the same great flavor that Supreme Clientelle and 36 Chambers has. GZA isn't even that lyrical, he doesn't get super personal with his lyrics, he's just kind of a blend of other wu tang members just not as defined or as enjoyable, to me at least. I've listened to Liquid Swords many times trying to see what other people see and I really think that among the first generation of solo Wu Tang releases (Tical, Return of The 36, Iron Man, OB4CL) that it is the weakest of all of them.
But that's just me, why do you guys like this album? What am I not seeing.
>>61770849
I like this album, but I think GFK has the title of best Wu solo rapper and best Wu solo release, with Ironman. Liquid Swords is good but like you said to me it's only good, not great.
GZA and RZA together represent the most well known aspect of the Wu that's also representative here. The Shaolin/Wudang. The Tigerstyle, shadowboxing, etc. It's that weird obsession of things like kung fu shit, comic book characters, the occult, and whatnot. 36 Chambers for example is predominantly this stuff but also has aspects of those other rappers that you mentioned. Liquid Swords is just this obsession with stuff that wasn't necessarily common in hip-hop around the time.
This album's cool as shit cuz it really takes advantage of their obsession with such things and is really creative with them lyrically and with the beats creates the aesthetic that is unique to RZA/GZA/the Wu.
Hope that made sense.

GZA himself thinks its overrated
anyway GFK is the goat wu tang member. supreme clientele>36 chambers

Here's the thing about Freddie. The man had some serious pipes. He had a 4 octave range and he excelled in any octave. He wrote brilliant songs. And his stage presence was only matched by Adolf Hitler. Seriously, watch them play Radio Gaga at Live Aid and then watch a video of the Nuremburg rallies. We had better thank our lucky stars Freddie didn't go into politics or he would have taken over the world. But Queen as a whole had a brilliant dynamic. It wasn't just the Freddie Mercury backup band. They all made huge creative contributions to what made Queen what it is. Yes, Freddie wrore Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, and Bohemian Rhapsody, but Brian May wrote We Will Rock You, Save Me, and Fat Bottom Girls, John Deacon wrote I Want to Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, and You're my Best Friend, and Roger Taylor wrote Radio Gaga and It's a Kind of Magic. Other bands like Nirvana for instance were not like that. Nirvana was basically just the Kurt Cobain backup band. Queen was this perfect storm of legendary talent, and Freddie was the face of it all, the delicious cherry on top of an already delicious sundae. He was the ambassador that allowed the amazing talent of combo that was Queen to be brought into our lives. He was the prism that focused the lazer beams from the brains of Roger, Brian, and John, and amplified them until they were powerful enough to blow our minds out through our ear holes. Yes, he was the most incredible front man who ever lived, hands down.
freddie liked to give men his serious pipe
Really?
