So are we all just ignoring the fact that he was from a different plane of existence?

not only did he invent using meme as an adjective, he invented vaporwave
>At the stroke of midnight on Sept. 1, 1998, BowieNet powered up. The press release, which declared the start of the service as an “all-out cyberspace celebration,” made some unbelievably bold promises for the time, including “webcast performances” by popular artists, live video feeds of David Bowie’s studio, as well as video interviews.

It's the 22nd of October
The point of these threads, is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to, and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.
We track our progress using calendars, which we fill with the albums we listen to on each day and a rating of some sort for all of them. There are templates...

>Roly Porter - Third Law
Claustrophobic, somewhat intense digital ambience or something. Lots of grandiloquence, occasionally sounding like a Hans Zimmer score, but this is undercut by the occasional banal melody and constant motion. Disorientating and alternately spooky and silly (did I hear Ligeti samples again? what is this meme?) Thought I'd enjoy this but I didn't get it. Sort of like Waiting for Godot, but without the fun.
first for memes

>You've exploited and stolen the music, the moment
The magic, the passion, the fashion, you toy with
The culture was never yours to make better
You're Miley, you're Elvis, you're Iggy Azalea
Fake and so plastic, you've heisted the magic
Does it right the wrongs now that he acknowledges it?

idk I don't think I can ever forgive him for stealing k dots grammy. The satirical part with the mom was pretty clever though.
No genre of music "belongs" to a group of a certain skin color, what a fucking retarded cuck.
>please pay attention to me
Kanye in the light, Kendrick in the dark.
This was the last time they spoke as friends
Upboated :^)

You can easily imagine Irish music.
You can easily imagine Indian music.
You can easily imagine Latin music.
Hell, I bet you can even imagine Australian music.
I'll bet you anything, though, that you can't imagine what American music is (and by American, I mean USA). I'll tell you what is, though.
Rap. Go ahead, cry.

What's so innovative about this? All i hear is IDM with some light influences here and there. Overrated as fuck and mediocre, just like everything else Radiohead has done.
there is a lot more IDM influence than most people credit, but I don't think the way they blended it with alt-rock was entirely unoriginal
i felt the same way when i first heard this but i think it is harder for me to understand the significance of this album due to hearing it in full about a decade after it's release. anybody older hear have any thoughts on this? great album still in my opinion but overrated if you ask me
If you don't get it, maybe you should explore into its influences and then listen to it again.
Why don't you guys like country?
I do.

Artists like FGL have ruined it, made it about "Bro-culture" every song has the same gimmick now.
George Strait has some pretty good songs though

Hey all, Feedback here, /mu/'s manager for the Four Chan Cup. We're running a poll for /mu/'s Cup team this Winter, which is coming up next month. We've had some good responses so far, but I've decided to post it again to give more people the opportunity to give their input.
You can find the poll at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Ji9zy7_28IV4Cc3V2UOtH2NP1Uvlyw8hJqZm0IrNhNg/viewform
Got an idea that isn't listed as an option? Just write it in under others and post it in the thread here, hopefully if it's any good others will...

White Previlege II
White Previlege II is how Macklemore trolls the whole industry, the black angry empowers and the casual hip hop head listener.
White Previlege II is an bit intelectual song, with a sarcastic perpective Run The Jews-like, bring these correct political rap eye to the claims of "white people" being evil and the cultural appropriator by black critics. This is a sophisticated mocking to be honest. Is a way to combat, for example the opressive message anti-white people by "To Pimp A Butterfly". :P

White Previlege II makes Maclemore looking pathetic to be honest, hes dissing Iggy Azalea... Miley Cyrus! Lol ... and ELVIS PRESLEY!!!!! LMAO!!!! Man... Why? Why? White artists sell more? Because the consumers are white, most rich people, most comfortable in their life or/and the white skin is more photogenic, and the aesthetic is like an ideal model to consome. But black is beautiful as equal like the better music came from the blacks, always.
White Previlege II... in that song why Macklemore don't dissed EMINEM or MAC MILLER...?? Hes a pussy for it. Hes playing an easy game, you know me. Hes liking doing the black people will and winning more and more fans, including me and you.
White Previlege II made name Macklemore the Hottest MC in the game right now, the crown changes, Fuck Future, fuck Kendrick Lamar, fuck Drake, fucl Young Thug, fuck Kanye West.

I can tell you've never listened to Macklemore before.
He's obsessively paranoid about being a white rapper. He's constantly fretting about whether he's popular because he's white. He praises black artists who he thinks are better than him all the time.
And he should be. Macklemore's fans like him because "he doesn't sing about bitches and money like every other rapper". He's the gateway to rap for white people.
