Is this album worth listening to? I know it's not really a VU albums, but I like all the other member's solo albums. Does this get unfairly hated on just because it's labeled as a VU album despite being a Yule solo album? Or is it actually really bad?
it's not bad, just really plain
It's so bad, that you should just avoid it. It doesn't have any charm, it's the definition of nothing special. Don't waste your time with it.
It's funny that Moe Tucker was originally supposed to play on the album but their manager decided she was too expensive to hire.
It's pretty sad when you don't allow the actual members of the band to play on their own album.
I fucking love this record but I can't figure out if it's because it's actually good or if it's because of nostalgia.

It's actually quite good anon. My favourite is Loyalty TO Loyalty because it has overall better songwriting but their first three records ore very solid. Sadly it all went to shit when half of their band left.

What's /daily/ been listening to lately that's not on their backlog lately? I've been listening to this pretty much every day.
I should probably start a backlog or something, but I've just been really busy and shit.
I've loved math rock for a while now but never got much deeper than entry level stuff, so I've been working through this list in particular recently. I've got another couple lists to get through when I'm done.
Side note: I'm glad to see What Burns Never Returns on here over American Don. Honestly I think American Don is kind of boring in a lot of spots and wholly overrated.

I feel like they have so much wasted potential, if they had a good singer and put a little more effort in they could at least be as good as radiohead. They have a fantastic, bassist, guitarist, and drummer too
John was their only talented member. I like his lo-fi stuff from the time he left the band for the first time.
