I would listen to classical, but I feel pretty uncomfortable about listening to a bunch of old racist white guys, desu. Are there any composers of color that I can listen to? Thanks.

I don't think I can stand listening to anymore Bruckner. I am having a pretty difficult time understanding the hype around this guy. His music sounds exciting enough in the Scherzi but it all sounds the same to me. Just the same shit being played for hours. What am I missing here?
Essential cuck-core?
To Pimp a Butterfly, Black Messiah... the list just keeps going, haha

016 is the year that death decided to flip us the middle finger and take the lives of the world's greatest musicians. I thought that it was amazing to see the world come together for Bowie's passing. And now, we are back here three months later because Prince is no longer with us. It hurts, it really hurts. Knowing that my idols, my heroes, the people I looked up to as a kid are gone is painful. But the one good thing it does is get people talking, we share a close bond now because of someone we were inspired by.
Rest in Peace Prince.

I'm a fan of both, but this post is embarrassing.
Thank god prince died, he was such a whiny bitch regarding Araki.

So let's go into his best album (both objectively speaking, based on the RYM chart and personally speaking) Purple Rain. The soundtrack to the movie of the same name. The film itself is rather cheesy, and works better as a bunch of music videos loosely connected by a cliche plot. But the music? THAT there is transcendent. From the opening sermon that kicks off "Let's Go Crazy" to the explosive finale of the title track. It is rare that an album barely has any issues whatsoever. There is not a...

I have about as much respect for Premiata Forneria Marconi as I do for the dogshit on my shoe. It is reddit. It is video game hotpocket. It is capeshit. It is cheeto dust. I'm literally screaming right now and slamming my arms down on my desk just thinking about it.
It is the most depraved video game infantilized manchild degeneracy. It is saturday morning cartoon. It is non-neurotypicality. It is memes. It is video game. It is SJW. It is memes. I am seething.
ITT: Depressive albums
Post albums that make you feel depressive/albums that you listen to while depressed
why....god of elijah, why
>>64636377
Why this album makes you feel depressed? It's so powerful and full energy. It's not Vulnicura.
I had lost interest in everything including music when I was depressed. But I still had this on repeat, particularly Coward from it, mainly for its value as an album that is also viscerally depressive and agonizing as it is cerebral.
Anyone have views zip???

Yes, The Scientist video.

I seriously think by now that is a concept album about their own influence in other bands, that's the whole point of the video too; Yorke entering to random buildings (influencing) and then leaving after a while (take for instance the careers of Muse and Coldplay)
Hahahaha holy shit

David Bowie, Weezer, Animal Collective, Deakin, Death Grips, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Radiohead all released/will release an album this year.
Where were you when 2016 was confirmed to be the best year for music this decade?
Listening to bp
On here laughing at people getting hyped for /mu/core artists that haven't released anything good in a decade. Only ones that don't fit that definition that you listed are Kendrick and Bowie.

>When asked in 2001 by MTV, "How do you guys feel about the fact that bands like Travis, Coldplay, and Muse are making a career sounding exactly like your records did in 1997?", Yorke replied: "Good luck with Kid A."
What the fuck did he mean by this?
I'm disappointed that there's no audio of this "album" anywhere
