Jay-Z rode the coattails of hip-hop's true greats to get his billions. Almost every song on Reasonable Doubt plays off of a previous rap classic. The Blueprint is alright, I guess.

ITT: Albums that make you feel like you are floating in space
Why does noise music, which is supposedly totally built on the foundation of total radicalism and freedom and invidivualism, all sound the same?
Why are noise fans so pretentious yet so incapable of explaining what the merit of noise music is?
Is noise music a scam exploiting gullible idiots desperate to be seen as being into something "radical"?
Is noise music for losers?
Is noise music for ex-metalheads who now want to look intelligent but still can't let go of bonheaded "extremism" in sound and imagery?
That's great and all, but I just want to say that I want to fuel Pharmakon's phallus obsession by fucking her in the ass.
That's all. Thanks for reading.

I'm assuming you are talking about noise, and not noise rock like Lightning Boltt or Melt Banana. I can't get into Swans. Weirdly, there's another noise band called Yellow Swans that is actually super good. I can try to abstract from my experience with their music. The walls of spound they create coalesce into unique, probably unplanned melodies and tunes. I can hear the different effects and instruments flow into each other and create interesting new structures. It takes some work to be able to make...

noise is just lame white male angst music desu
even the female artists in the genre make the same shit as the male ones, there's no genuine female voices in the whole thing, no voices which work truly approach the thing from a female perspective
that's quite sad when you take into account how proudly hyper-masculine and sexist/outright misogynistic so much of noise is
for an aspiring female noise artist to play by the same rules without trying to subvert or deconstruct them feels like a betrayal in a way

Where do I start with Radiohead? I've already listened to kid a and ok computer and pic related
What did you like?

Should've started from the beginning to get the sense of progression. But having heard OKC and Kid A you should check out In Rainbows next.

Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals
Pink Floyd - The Wall
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
J.K. and CO - Suddenly one summer
Is this the most underrated rock band of the last 10 years?
The Raconteurs are by far the best thing Jack White was ever involved in. How come they get forgotten so much?

Be thankful we got at least two records from them!
Definitely overlooked. Consolers of the lonely was one of my favorite albums for a long time growing up. It lost a bit of its luster, but I still enjoy it. Definitely would like to see them explore what they did in their second album, though i'd like a bit more rawness.
i'm bored /mu/. can we talk about how good liturgy is?
desu HHH is the modern Glenn Branca except he's a lot more interesting conceptually
and Julia Holter is Laurie Anderson
First heard this album play at Good Records in East Dallas. I had to ask the teller who it was. I had grown out of metalcore a few years ago but this LP made me want to revisit metal from a different subgenre. Black metal is great and, even though this is hardly a black metal album, I enjoyed it. Not sure I can really listen to it much now though.

You have LITERALLY one chance to impress MEME aliens with a song or a piece of music. They only enjoy MEME MUSIC, so choose wisely. If it's not MEME enough, they will destroy Earth and humanity will cease to exist.

I personally don't really this brand of rock revivalism but good luck to you, you could probably find moderate success if you churned out a few more of these with a band and had a good frontman
