As a fellow QM I try to give players 'outs' if they have started down a path that will lead to bad Consequences.
I typically give three chances at an out before I go ahead and have a character suffer due to poor decisions.
It seems like there was no 'out' once Squeeze got shot. There was no way to avoid her death.

I wanted to see if a CYOA where players could control two MC simultaneously was feasible, as well as see how well Anons follow orders given to them by something that is clearly working against their interests. The combat senario was used to make the stakes for both MCs high as well as making both ponies as balanced as possible combat wise so none of them were a clear under-dog. I needed MCs that were easily relatable and that players had no per-formulated bias about so there would be a divide between which one was preferred.
