As for characters, there hasn't really been many other than the director who likely will never pop up again so I sadly didn't put much thought into her. I sunk most of my time into the other 5 ponies on the crew since they will probably be with the players for the whole game.
Weird scenarios is sort of my deal so that probably won't improve. I wasn't too happy with the beginning though, I wanted a character creation but I didn't want to have just no context to the quest off the bat, hence why I framed it as filling out those forms. Instead I think it just made for a bland first rail road-y first session and I think there were better ways I could have gone about it. I got a few people interested at least so hopefully I can keep them long enough until I hit the meat of the quest

All these things are commonplace on /tg/, but are generally unpopular on /mlp/.
/mlp/ prefers character and story driven quests, where game mechanics are kept hidden and QM's don't break immersion.
I'm not saying that one style of questing is better than the other, only that there definitely is a difference in the culture between each board.

The fact that people complain about Pot's lack of character is what separates /mlp/ questing culture from /tg/'s.
I've literally seen people on /tg/ complain about MC's being too developed, because "the QM is railroading us into being a specific character."
/mlp/ also complains about QM meta talk quite a bit, which isn't even considered a problem on /tg/.
And of course we have plenty of text quests, but /tg/ ONLY has text quests. On /tg/, there's 1 draw quest for every 10 text quests. /mlp/ has closer to a 50/50 split.
My point is that the questing cultures are different on each board. There is some overlap, but generally speaking each board has it's own distinct style.
As an experiment, let's categorize a common /mlp/ style as being:
>draw quest
>light / hidden / no mechanics
>no QM suggest actions
>minimum / no meta talk from QM
Now, let's list all the active quests that fit those prerequisites:

and probably a few I'm forgetting.
So, that's at least 9 different active quests that fit within the /mlp/ style of questing.
If there is no difference in questing culture between /mlp/ and /tg/, then we can expect to see a similar number of quests on /tg/ that fulfill the outlined prerequisites listed above.
However, there are literally 0 active quests on /tg/ that match my criteria. As of right now, my hypothetical "/mlp/ style" of questing is exclusive to our board.
I know, there is the rare modern /tg/ quest that is in the /mlp/ style (like Don't Fuck the Princess), but for the most part /tg/ has their own style of questing that's different from ours.

Really old quest, ran around the same time Renne Quest did.
Involved a filly who could use the 'save' function by hugging a plush toy. This usually meant she'd be dying over and over while trying to prevent the big bad of the week from killing everyone. It ran around 4 times with a new big bad each time.
She remembered everything every time she reloaded and was consciously aware of her power to effectively time travel, however eventually the QM put a limit on how many times we could reload which lead to some rather tense moments after we died horribly one too many times and had only one shot left.

Okay, so honest answer: RGS2 is probably not going to happen. If I ever were to run another CYOA it'd be an entirely different setting - the 'archeologist ruins exploration' one, if anyone remembers that from when I briefly described it here. Lack of reasons are primarily still being colossal burnt out on the sheer time demand QMing requires, but also busy trying to git gud at pone art for the next one - I'm sort of hoping it'd be a hybrid text-and-image instead of just straight green.

You wrote a story where the best possible ending was the bad guys winning and the good guys being wrong for fighting back. Anything you do connected to that universe is going to be grating because of that.
