hey /LGBT/ so im looking for a new roommate and most ppl that i met so far are not an option.
I complained about that to my gay best pal and asked him in a joke if he wants to move in with me and to my surprise he was not opposed to that idea.

Is there any way to gain support/reassurance of one's gender despite of being trans?
My family has always loved and supported me, but my dad was not only deeply against anything stereotypically manly (esp. sports and the military), but somewhat of an emotionally absent drunk. When I came out to him, he just politely disagreed and we never talked about it again. My mom and sister keep making negative remarks about virtually anything related to men, masculinity or aspects of manhood. I worry they're going to turn against me once I start hormones and might actually pass some day.
I don't think it's a matter directly related to whatever makes people trans (inb4 trannies are crazy by default), I'd eat a hat full of shit if I'd be completely sane and comfortable with my identity had I been amab and raised like this.
How does one gain confidence in gender that is not universally aknowledged or given support?
According to the patterns I've been taught, I should be picking up some sad mop with no self-esteem for a wife, who'll do all the work for me in hopes of gaining any worth and value for herself. This is not an option because it's cruel and shitty amd I'm not attracted to women.
A sane, reasonable solution would be to go to a psychiatrist, but I am yet to convince a psychiatrist that I am actually male, and can't afford to give him anything sparkly as a distraction.

I don't understand what you're saying. I'm women's size 12 and there are no shoes available to me. The only sites that sell size 12 are expensive special sites with catalogue made to suit the 30+ yo category rather than anything I'm looking for. 2500 per toe is going to take a while to save for, I got no idea how I'm going to make it without shoes for the next 5-10 years or something.
Any tips or advice on how to come out to my family as trans. I am independent in the military and I have been on HRT for a little over 60 days now. My parents keep pressuring me to take leave but I just cant face them till I come out. Like I said any tips?

help me, tomorrow I have an appointment with a psyc, and I need to convince them in this first meeting that I am ready to start hormones and I won’t regret it etc. Going through the system to get hormones where I live takes at least a few months, and so I am seriously considering self medding until then. Should I tell the psyc this to show I am serious? Or would this hurt my chances of her agreeing to write the referral I need? Just be honest. If your psych is competent on the field he will wave you through assuming you are transgender. How you view what transgender is and means won't matter. If your psych is not competent he might just have read books about trans and not know how different interpretations are all viable.
What really helps is being nice and sympathic. Some psychs mention YAVIS. Young attractive verbal intelligent sympathic. YAVIS pstients are believed to easier to therapate and are more likely to get waved through.
