Why is this allowed?
Does the AK's chambered in 7.62×39mm really deserve their great reputation?

You are in a real SHTF world and you must choose one tripfag to be your SHTF buddy and he will be your helper but you must also choose one other tripfag that will be your enemy that will stop at nothing in order to find you and kill you.

Also you must pick one rifle, one shotgun, one pistol and one melee weapon (bows and slinshots are welcomed too even pellet rifles if stuck in europe)

Alright lets see what /k/ will do in this game!

what is it /k/? What would you want to carry in an all out shtf situation? personally I would choose a taurus pt99. Very accurate, hi capacity. Over the m9 because no kekslidesafety and adjustable sights.

I know this is true with some older rimfires but completely irrelevant to any gun made recently.

/k/,
I'm torn between buying a SCAR 17 or buying higher tier AR10 (specifically Sig716) and im not sure which one I should get. Any advice?
I have ~$2000 to spend, obviously for the SCAR I will have to shell out more shekels but is it worth it compared to a Sig716?
107 posts and 18 images submitted.
>>
A SCAR needs a couple pricey changes to make it good.
So just stick with a basic AR 10.
>>
>>29420233
SCAR fag here.
Today, you'd need about $3k to get one, FN hasn't shipped any SCARs out in like four months, dealer inventory is all but used up. The auction sites have them though.

The SCAR is a more expensive rifle to get into, and it comes in just one model, for now. You can buy/build an AR10 to suit your exact desires for less.

That said, id avoid an SIG 716, they tend be heavy as fuck.
>>
>>29420339
Good point, plus I live in CA so it would be even harder to get my hands on a SCAR. Don't mind the weight of the 716, I actually prefer the extra weight.

Are there any left side charging handled rifle in 5.56/.223? (Or .308 for that matter)

It's seems like my only options are
>fnc/ fn fal
>acr
>cz bren 805
> scar 16/17
>ptr 91

I prefer the smaller calibers for cost, plinking, supressor use and varmint hunting.

Looking for assistance cause I want to break away from the ar market (also fell in love with the ak5c - a gun I know I'll never have)

I sometimes use both.

if you shoot a significant amount of ammo between cleanings a boresnake wont clean anything
impossible to knock out any obstructions with a snake
patch and rod has its place

Ausfag here. Over the Easter weekend there was a break and enter into a family home in a large regional city.

The suspect was seen near the home-owners child's bedroom when he was subdued by the male occupant and a friend. During this the suspect suffered a broken neck and later died of his injuries in hospital.

My question is what methods can someone reasonably use in a country without a 'castle law' and poor excuses for self-defence?

None. Your government representatives have rallied their careers around "reducing crime" and "think of tha children!!!!!" and "muh arguments from emotion"

They have sacrificed the safety and security of individuals in order to propel their own ambitions and careers. It is MUCH easier to ban a scary thing (like guns in Australia or switchblades in America) and say "Look!!! We banned this scary thing CRIMINALS use, thus we have reduced crime" than to actually address the sources of crime like poverty. As long as only a few people (statistically speaking) are murdered/raped/robbed because of a lack of defense then it never becomes an issue, because its VERY easy to rally suburban housewives (with no jobs and nothing to do during the day) to your cause with appeals to emotion, so any argument on self defense or protection of property can be simply shouted down by "THINK OF THE CHILDREN, THE CHILDREN FOR GODS SAKE!!"
>>
>>29418712

OP here. Yeah that sounds like an all too familiar tune that our politicians play.

How would other /k/ommandos deal with such a cretin in their own homes in a country with gun control and lacklustre self-defence laws.

Keep in mind the assailant was a large and physically intimidating drug user with a criminal record.

what are your preferences /k/?

Bought a G30s about a year ago and am looking to buy a wheel gun for fun/carry. Been looking into a LCR and a SP101, heard the LCR is harder to handle in .357. Also looking into a 2 inch Chiappa Rhino.

For a .357 carry/CCW gun I would go with
-SP 101, I prefer the 3 inch, but the 2.25 inch one is just as fine. They also have a 3 inch GP 100 but that would work better with a larger barrel.
-S&W model 19/66(60's are stainless) they have with 2.5 barrels. Lovely fucking wheel gun.
-S&W model 686(586 2.5 are hard as hell too find, they have for like a grand the 3 inch performance model of it) in 2.5 and 3 inches barrels.

For .38 specials go with a 2 inch model 10 or 15. After that a .36 or aluminum 37.(both also come in 3 inch barrels and those are actually pretty good) Also the 38/49 body guards are great, basically a 36 but with a shoruded hammer that can still be single actioned but can't pocket snag. Also Colt Detective specials are amazing. Getting mine in soon.

Also I like them but some are
Mixed is the Charter arms Bulldog, in .44 special. Can be gotten cheap but only get the older or new classic style ones.
>>
Borrowed my father's hammer less Sp101 to try out. Like it alot. Might get an sp101 hammered, or an LCRx if I'm feeling cheap. Recommendations?
