How viable would a massive nuclear strike via cargo ships be? I was thinking of something along the lines of the Chinese filling 100-300 civilian cargo ships with nukes and then have them all reach American ports at the same time, then go kaboom. The best part would be that there would not be a quick counter attack on the American side, since no missiles were launched and therefore they wouldn't actually know who attacked them. The amount of nukes could always be increased for more effect.

How difficult do you think it would be to build a very basic rifle? Something very simple, like an early lever action or a break action. I have experience with CAD software, and have a 3d printer that I could use to make negatives with sand cast molds. I also have basic woodworking tools to make a simple stock. The only thing I'm worried about is the barrel, and rifling. How bad would a smooth bore barrel be? Bad enough to warrant buying one or having one machined? I do tech support for a machining shop, and they've been happy to do small work for free in the past...

A smooth bore will work fine if you use the proper rated tubing but rifled blanks aren't that much more money in the end and if you can turn them down and headspace yourself is well worth buying.

I was thinking about trying for a lever action. From what I've seen, bolt action is probably beyond what I could make with what I have, but a simple lever action rifle looks doable, like something similar to a Henry rifle. If lever action turns out to be too difficult, break action is always an option.

I'm looking to buy another 5.56 rifle (already have a SIG550) for range fun and stuff like that.
I've looked at the VZ58 in 5.56 along with a mag adapter to accept AR mags.
Now the thing is this rifle is MORE expensive than a Ruger AR556 or a SW Mp 15 sport II. Would it make it more sense to get an AR over this VZ or should I get the VZ?
Quality wise what's better

It's been soaking in mineral spirits/paint thinner for the past 12 hours. I'm going to let it soak for another 12.
