What are some of the crudest, simplest weapons that were ever issued to modern fighting forces? I'm looking for firearms and other modern equipment that was made with cost and simplicity as the leading factors.
I heard that the Russians had some sort of launcher in WWII that lobbed blown glass orbs filled with some sort of explosive. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Starting with obligatory Sten.

So I am officially a hasguns now, I got a pistol that I plan to EDC. Now I am looking at IWB holsters. Are aliengear holsters garbage or nah? They seem to be the most prevalent.
>>30221591
Hybrid holster are garbage, enjoy having a fucking square mile of material up against your body all day for no fucking reason.
Spare yourself the embarrassment and discomfort and buy a real holster aka Bravo Concealment or G-CODE.
Also, this question wasn't worth its own thread.
>>30221591
They are g2g.
>>30221591
>subcompact single stack
>holster is made of more material than the gun and probably weighs as much
>enjoy that sweat absorbing pad
Post your shotguns, complain about Remington, compare choke patterns, and more!
First order of business: why are spare 870 barrels so goddamn expensive all of a sudden? I have an old Wingmaster I'm trying to get a high gloss 18 inch barrel for, and I can't find one for any less than $170. Would it be prudent to look for used examples, or should I just bite the bullet and take the hit?
Also, opinions on rifle sights on a smoothbore?
870 Express Magnum was a gift
Mossberg 590A1 for fun
>>30221016
170$ for a barrel isn't that costly.

I really enjoy the sound of pistols being put into kydex holsters.

I got a ton of cosmoline on my hands then ate a sandwich while my SKS parts were boiling
about 3 min later I started getting really sick, pounding headache, runny nose, and I got so horny a jacked it like 3 times.
What sort of boot does /k/ prefer?
I've been experimenting with various sorts of footwear over the years to see which did best for work (paramedic). My current boots are Corcoran 5407 tankers. Not because of any stolen valor bullshit (never served, never really wanted to), but because they were designed to be comfortable while worn for hours on end in a cramped vehicle, which is pretty much what I do for a living. I did about 20 hours straight in them yesterday and I have to say that, while not as comfortable as my old engineer boots, they were pretty damned comfy. Especially after I smeared enough mink oil in them to lube a crank case.
Pic related: Corcoran 5407s in action. Or rather, not in action.
>>30220830
Take it from a former user, your straps will snag on things at the worst possible time. That said, I wore my pair for a couple of years and they held up quite well.
I hope that you don't find yourself hung up on something, but be aware of the possibility.
>>30220861
Yeah, they're supposedly designed to do the precise opposite of that, but mine kind of hung on the unit door just a while ago. They didn't slow me down or trip me and I sort of chalked it up to a loose instep strap (immediately tightened), but it was kind of a downer. To be honest, every laced boot I've ever had did the same thing, so I'm not too bummed. Eh, if these don't work out I'm going back to a pair of side zip paratroopers with zip tie laces, which I wore for years just fine....

Royer MOABs are the best boots I've owned to date. Highly recommend 8" with the zip tops but not everyone is comfortable in high boots. Build quality is why I keep buying their stuff. Never had a pair fail at anything other than a gradual slow wear n tear pace.
What kind of tactical must haves do you guys miss? Which are you glad to see gone?
>>30220624
I'm glad drop leg holsters are starting to get phased out. Regular and mid-ride is the way to go.
>>30220624
I'm too poor to be tactical.
I'm currently about as tactical as a 70s Muj fighter
>>30220637
Completely agree, sadly I got caught up in the fad so now I have too many of the damn things and can not get rid of em.
so /k/, whats your experience with class 3 weapons? heres my story:
>be me
>be running low on 9mm for my p226
>head out for a bullet run
>as i am making my purchase theres this kid that comes in that cant be older than 14
>he has the definition of hatred of his face, like he was about to explode with anger
>now keep in mind that this gun store always has an offhand employee to deal with...

Okay, poor fag, get a WASR10 or an NPAP
Stay away from IO.

Google it, new friend.
What the fuck were they thinking?
>>30219598
They were probably thinking it costs them pennies to multiple one sku by 9 with small marginal changes that could mean the world to a vastly expanded market.
Stop being a fucking faggot and acting like you're more than momma's special boy.
Maximum customization options equals maximum appeal.
So /k/, I recently got a VZ. What's your shit post opinion on them compared to AK?

Britbong type 45 destroyers aren't working because the waters in the Persian Gulf are too warm. Literally the whole ship shuts down and servicemen are left in complete darkness. Their budget has completely run dry for the time being so an overhaul isn't possible. How fucked are they?

NOPE. Also expect your thread to turn into a edgy cop block thread, if that was not your intention in the first place.
>>30218381
That is a sad video. There's a redone video that recreates the entire thing from Dinkheller's perspective. They pound that video into you in police academies. Dinkheller was reprimanded two days earlier for use of force from a complaint so he was hesitant to draw his weapon.
Post and discuss stuff pertaining to the multiple on going armed conflicts in the middle east.
Mod deleted the old thread, I'm guessing for autism. Just be more civil nerds and dont even bother replying to shitposting.
>>30217990
Yes it sucks , I was just about to post a reply too. I guess since the last thread was nuked i'll post some side news from eastern Homs. IS and the SAA are continuing to fight around Jazal oil field. People shouldn't forget IS never lost Shaer and are still active in the area.
