To import these handguns into the USA Century Arms needed to pin and weld a fake can on the barrel essentially making the handgun pretty useless other than for novelty.
Under the Gun Control Act of 1968, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Treasury`s agency with regulatory authority over firearm issues, adopted "Factoring Criteria" to be used to determine whether a given handgun is eligible for importation under 925(d)(3). Under the criteria, a handgun must meet certain "prerequisites" and achieve a sufficient number of points under a "point system" which awards points based upon a handgun`s overall length and height (pistols) or frame length and barrel length (revolvers), weight, caliber, frame construction, safety-related features, and miscellaneous equipment such as target sights and grips.
5,000 of these handguns were imported from Israel a few years ago and have been slowly selling for the 250-300 dollar area depending on vendor and condition.

If you have a G3 derivate like my PTR-91 GI R, do yourself a huge favor and get an HK-21 charging handle. Makes pulling back the bolt WAY, WAY easier, especially if you have gloves on.
With only having watched a YouTube video of how to do it, it only took me 10 minutes to do the mod.

This is from 2014 but just released. A student ambushes a shooter with pepper spray, tackles him, and disarms him.
Thoughts? What did the student do right and wrong?
I think he did a great job until he grabbed the gun and ran away, leaving the shooter out of sight. The shooter could have pulled out a backup pistol at that time.
Further, when the shooter pulled the knife out, the student should have had the gun with him and shot the shooter, NOT gone in again to try to tackle and disarm the knife.
But overall, kudos. More people need to AT LEAST carry pepper spray if they won't carry a gun, and need to be prepared to attack shooters like this.
