The Western civilization has its roots in Greece and even the letters you are using to insult me were brought from the Phoenicians via Greeks to the Western world. Life expectancy in ancient Greece was in the 30's a third of children died a few days after being born and making it to 10 was a risk. We simply latch onto Greece due to interest of the unique and lack of classical history among northern euros.
