So I spent the last month working at a nols-like outdoor education program where you take some teenagers into the wilderness of British Columbia and do backpacking trips and climbing and shit like that because it's fun as hell and I want to do something with the outdoor skills I have.
Anyway my fellow instructors were two Canadians. I always thought Canada was a great country really, I never had anything against Canadians. But these two were some of the worst people I've ever met
They only had three things they ever talked about:
>hockey (which they called puck)
>how terrible America is
>Weed
The camp has a policy about talking about drugs since parents send their kids here to have some beneficial experience during the summer. But these instructors openly discussed how cool they were for smoking weed right in front of the kids, who clearly felt super awkward because of it.
They were all supposed to be highly skilled outdoors men, but their skills were severly lacking, to the point I had to train both of them to set up a top rope despite the fact they were required to be trained in it. They didn't even know how to tie the most basic knots like the clove hitch.
They were stout defenders of socialism and communism, which ok I didn't really care about, I'm mostly left leaning too, but they were beyond retarded when it came to history and politics.
They tried to tell me that the US bombed both China and the USSR during the 1970's.
I had an argument with one of them who was trying to persuade me that George W. Bush was a more evil leader than Pol Pot.
They hated nothing more than America despite understanding nothing but the most basic ideas of our government, and constantly complained about American nationalism, but were all stouts patriots themselves.

But this is the worst. I ended up jokingly Canada once, something along the lines of saying Canadians are just worse versions of new englanders, but they got so offended they all immediately left and refused to speak with me despite having been brutally railing on the US all day.
I thought this would end that night. But nope when I woke up the next morning and tried to discuss the days plan with them they looked the other way and didn't respond. They literally acted like schoolgirls, and refused to even says word to me when we were all in a professional setting and in charge of the well-being of ten kids.
This was a day we were supposed to be climbing and since they wouldn't talk to me I just had to guess when they had everything set up so I could start sending kids up. They literally put these kids lives at risk so they could continue to be little bitches. I decided then to be the bigger man and apologize to them so we could get the group back on track. I tried to say I was sorry if I offended them and could we please get back to our jobs. Well they didn't accept this just yet. They called a group meeting with all our students and made me apologize to them in front of them and take back what I said about Canada.
I literally don't know how I survived that month. Did I just get the worst people in the world or are all Canadians this bad?
