Honestly I spend so little time in the real world and so much time on the internet that I would have no idea if that's even true.

Do some real lifting. You won't turn into a bodybuilder overnight. It will take years of hard work to get there. Especially if you pick a routine that's based on increasing strength instead of a bodybuilding routine that focuses on maximizing muscle growth. And keep doing that cardio. It's perhaps the only thing I'll advocate in that guide. Cardio is always good. Though it doesn't have to be running. Try out different things and pick something that you like. Running, cycling, skiing, swimming, rollerblading, dancing, the list is endless. If you don't know how to do something don't be afraid of taking a lesson and learning proper technique. It'll make everything so much more enjoyable when you know what you're doing.

I think those two people are more different than you realize.
