Not the one you were replying to, but that's a very naive and uninformed assumption a lot of people have. First of all, washing your face *too often* is a thing. And second of all, not everyone has the same skin and the vast majority of people who don't have serious problems with 'acne' are just plain lucky. And yet everyone likes to believe that their personal hygiene is the reason for their acne-free life while the people who do have problems are just 'sleazy'.
Chances are, if you're an adult with acne problems, you're already washing your face several times a day and tried all kinds of non-prescription cremes and lotions. Telling people with serious acne problems to wash their face is the equivalent of telling a depressed person to 'just lighten up'.
