DC Rebirth Speculation thread
did Death/Reign/Rebirth of Superman Nu 52 Remix end today or is it still going? i dunno what other dc news there is
>>82678845
>is it still going
Yeah. Still going. Action Comics #52 was the 6th issue in the 8 week long event.
Superman/WW #29 next week will be the 7th issue, and then Superman #52 will finally end things.
Also, didn't even know to check, but there's a wikipedia page for DC Rebirth:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Rebirth
I didn't even see Action Comics being storytimed today, /co/ has been weird lately. I can't wait for best Supes to come back.
What are some really good non-cape comics?
100 Bullets, Y The Last Man, Southern Bastards, DMZ
>>82678816
Does Hellblazer count? If so, check it out. You should also look at Scalped, Criminal, Unknown Soldier, and Preacher.

>>82679234
well they had to cram two seasons together, so
>surprisingly great
right? it has just the right amount of crumminess, really earnest voice impressions, and a plot you could totally see them doing if they were allowed
Have you guys seen this?
>With a crushing debt and a health care and humanitarian crisis in the making, the beautiful island of Puerto Rico could use a superhero right now. And thanks to Brooklyn-based Marvel Comics writer and comic book nerd, Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, it got one. Her name is La Borinqueña, a New York-born superhero who discovers her superpowers when she visits the island.
Why is Jim Jones on the cover?
>"She is symbol of patriotism at a time when Puerto Ricans need to be reminded of their superpowers," says Miranda-Rodriguez, who pitched the idea of creating an original comic book to the National Puerto Rican Day Parade committee several months ago.
>"She is a patriotic symbol of hope for Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans. We don't need to look outside of us for the power—we have it inside. If we come together, we will win," he says.

They better do her justice by having a fat ass.
I think Punisher: War Zone and Ray Stevenson are underrated.
>>82678152
Ray Stevenson is underrated in general. In majority of his roles he is underutilized
Ray was the perfect Frank. Everything else about the movie was fucking horrific though, especially the villains.
>>82678513
I was really young when I saw this movie and couldn't remember anything remarkable about the movie except something about frank on a picnicking
Could anyone get me a greentext on how they fucked up the Punisher that should be pretty easy to pull.
"Powerless" is a go at NBC, as the DC Comics workplace comedy starring Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk and Danny Pudi has been ordered to series.
According to Variety, "Grease Live" star Vanessa Hudgens will play Emily, a "spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes."
The official synopsis is as follows:
>When Emily stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own...

Okay. I admit. I'm a marvel fan and I've never watched any DC shows but I might pick this up cause of the cast
No other reason
oh boy does this sound insufferable.
Sure NBC, after canceling Constantine I'll watch DC The Office.
What are the best Ultimate universe comics to read? I've read Spiderman and The Ultimates. Where should I go next? Fantastic Four? X-Men?
Nah you got it. Millar Ultimates and Bendis Spidey
X-Men sucked
I read like maybe 30-40 issues of it, and I was waiting for it to get good, but it didn't
I enjoyed Fantastic Four a lot more actually. Up to a certain point.
Some of the events or limited series were okay. A lot of cool crossover stuff happened. Some of the ones Bendis did were okay.
But Bendis on USM, Millar's Ultimates, Hickman's Ultimates is about the only true good material in Ultimate Universe
>>82677500
Fantastic Four is great.
Ultimate X-men sucks and aged horribly.
>tfw there was never a cartoon for Nicktoons Unite.
So many missed opportunities.
I've always wanted to see something like this when I was younger. So yeah, I also think it's a huge missed opportunity. Why do you think Nick or CN never really did something like this?
>>82678708
Would just be hard to manage I guess. Like, would it be a full series? Doesn't that mean the staff working on each individual show would have to have long term collaboration, which would really take away from working on their own shows?
Just easier to have them keep to themselves and have the occasional rare crossover event. As cool as it may be it apparently wasn't worth the effort.
Source on the picture? Is there more?
Why hasn't there been a story about interracial twins?
>>82677326
Because you haven't written it yet silly.
>>82677342
I got ideas...basically one about a cult kidnapping a pair of interracial twin girls
but that is aside the point.
...mixed raced kids?
or are you talking about adopted brothers who have the birthday?
I'm sure you can't have a story about twins with different race. either they are adopted or both are mixed raced that wouldn't be interracial because both are from the same race.
Bow before a true mon amie.
>>82676552
Merci petite
always bugged me
no fucking cajun talks like this
>>82676552
He's not a true anything, his French is fake as fuck. Isn't he from Lousiana anyway?
What kind of fucking hipster still talked French in Louisiana in the 80s?
Don't mind me, just posting best King of the Hill episode, only equal to the Night and Deity
nah man nah
This is a tough one for me, so I'll share an image from one of my favorites.
Other top episodes:
Aisle 8A
Ho, Yeah!
Goodbye Normal Jeans
Cane Skrettleburg Must Die
>>82676194
can't remember the name of it, but i always enjoyed the y2k episode
Do you like or dislike Geoff Johns' take on Batman, /co/? In JL, Earth One, or otherwise.
>>82675871
Dislike. He comes off as a bumbling, petulant child.
It's not humanization, it's bastardization.
>>82675871
Johns is just not a very good writer or even a bright guy. He couldn't properly express his love for Hal in 80+ issues juust as he can't properly express his disdain of Batman.
Former's "he the best I swear!", latter's "he stink haha look at him!"
>>82676376
I don't know where the idea that johns "hates batsman" came from but it's bullshit.
How would you make the UN's reasoning for the governing of The Avengers not seem so retarded in the movies and how would you make the 'Sokovia Accords' look a lot more reasonable to tony and the viewers.
One thing I thought would probably work or at least be a lot more reasonable was ifPepper Pottswas still with Tony and made him realize that if he actually wouldn't sign the deal that UN would make it impossible for Stark Industries to survive with him stopping hims number one source of income that was weapon and destroying pretty much all...

>How would you make the UN's reasoning for the governing of The Avengers not seem so retarded in the movies and how would you make the 'Sokovia Accords' look a lot more reasonable to tony and the viewers.
Because if you actually paid attention the movie did just that without saying who was right.
>Ross: If you guys don't keep it down you're gonna cause more trouble for regular humans like us and you'll get what's coming...

yeah but for me and a lot of other people it was them saving millions from dying
and it was presented by Ross who was the reason New York got destroyed by the villain from the second hulk movie and this movie came out after winter soldier that will just making the point that the UN should not have control over The avengers that much stronger. Tony looked stupid for the most of the movie for a lot of people.
>>82676335
>yeah but for me and a lot of other people it was them saving millions from dying
Then you are those other people are retarded. It was a accumulation of lives and property damage they've made up until that point. Wanda destroyed a building and the people inside all to capture one bad guy.
>and it was presented by Ross who was the reason New York got destroyed by the villain from the second hulk movie
Not the same Ross
>and...

Spider-Man is a tragic character driven by guilt. Anyone else worried the MCU won't explore the dramatic side of the character and turn him into le shallow quippy teenager? They won't show Uncle Ben's death, and I doubt the MCU will havee a Gwen Stacy to kill off as well. At least the Garfield movies tried to have the ballance between drama and comedy.
>>82675583
I just hope it has a style and distinct look to it. Because all non GOTG marvel movies look like TV shows with large budgets
Feige said he wants Homecoming to feel like a John Hughes movie. That's good enough for me
>complaining about spiderman quipping
Is this going to be one of the hardest costume to adapt to the screen without potentially pissing off fans /co/?
>people expect live action costumes to look like comics
He's probably just wear a green shirt and yellow baseball cap.
>>82675641
You mean a black bulletproof vest?
hopefully they don't try
