This is a really good episodeI have seen this sort of protagonist doesn't like the way others are putting there lives before his own conflict fall apart before. But they managed to pull it off really well here while making sure the resolution dident invalidate pearls lessons both marital and philosophical.
Some might say cassie falling into pearls philosophy on the matter made no sense but its clear she had a very good reason for it (shame about most of her other secrets being kept simply because shes a retard) and ultimately the lesson was not so much that she shouldent protect steven as they can do a better job if they work together. I get the feeling that if it came down to it she would still sacrifice herself without a second thought if needed she just wont tell steven that
