Why is everything about comics books in this era seemingly so uncomfortable and steeped in populist identity politics and social media culture? I feel absolutely alien in the world of comics as they are now.
I really don't like it /co/. I feel like I've lost such a cozy part of my life, like I used to live on a quiet street that I could take walks along and drive around at night with the windows down just to breath in the atmosphere, but now it's an impersonal highway with screaming traffic and oil stains.

Because he was supposed to be a plot device, not a character. That's the problem, you introduce a baby or a littler kid to mix things up, then realize that they're basically a character of incredible importance to people in the story, but they can't talk or have their own ideas or even be put safely out of the way for an extended period.
