Is it really necessary to use superstars in animated movies? Is anyone gonna think "oh, the guy who voices the main character is super famous, now I wanna watch the movie even more!" 90% of the time I don't even recognize the voice. Especially if it's a woman. "Oh, that was Bruce Willis? That was Angelina Jolie?" Ok,cool, but did it make the movie any better than if it was an unknown guy? Probably not, unless the unknown guy really sucked.

I actually felt real good about the first episode, I thought the setting was interesting and it would be great when the show explored the city.

In spite of its flaws, Steven Universe is a show that deserves credit for its underlying message. In a world growing angrier, bitterer, and preoccupied with cynicism and entitlement, this show not only addresses human imperfections but embraces them.
Not every episode of this show is a standout, as captivating or engaging as some are. But messages of love, perseverance, forgiveness et cetera are always nice to see.

It'd be nice to have something a little more traditional but still cartoony, like pic related. Or even a Gerald McBoingBoing look to it. So far, I can only really think of three cartoons that have that aesthetic I like: Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Loud House (Sometimes), and my favorite is Wander but that's ending now.
