Back in those days, Spinach was believed to have absurdly high amounts of iron due to a misplaced decimal point, so as an exaggerated joke, Popeye would eat it and become superpowered.
Though even without the spinach, Popeye is pretty fucking powerful. He lassoed the grand canyon shut, punched a shark so hard it's teeth went through its head, took a shot to the back of the head and bent all the nails in an iron maiden before even dipping into his spinach.

Warner sat on them for god knows how long and kids just forgot about them.
I genuinely thought they had something going with The Looney Tunes Show, it wasn't everyone's cup of tea but it was trying something new, but NOT MUH LOONEY TUNESfags had to bitch and moan and now we have Wabbit, a mediocre show trying to emulate the old shorts without any of the charm or comedic timing (holy fuck comedic timing) that made the old shorts good.

As much as I love Earthworm Jim, he had a short comic. And a cartoon.
EWJ had a cartoon series. Wasn't too bad, I would have liked it to be a bit more serious with the continuity instead of this wacky thing happens this episode and that's it format. The game was a little bit more high concept. Like for fuck sake, they managed to make an epic assed show out of Teddy fucking Ruxbin why couldn't they do one for Jim?
