I've been tasked with writing a short story about Batman for class. The themes are about carrying the burden of everyone. Ideas?
>>77478147
Better get writing.
>>77478147
Machiavellian story about batman ceasing corporations of rival villains and Gotham figures to economically strengthen the city therefore fight crime on a macro scale.
>>77479949
I'd read this.
But if OP's professor is a standard-faire literature libkek, he'd be safer writing a story where Batman isn't white and prioritizes fighting street-level crime. Twist: the police have actually been patronizing crime for the past twenty years in order to ensure their jobs are relevant.
If it's for a class, spoon feed them some bullshit. They don't deserve your best.
If it's for passion, write your goddamn heart out.
What if I told you I had some inside information and people are about to collectively lose millions of dollars worth of comics? Especially if you have any comics from one of the Big Two?
There will be no refunds. Comixology's PR plan is try to peg the blame on the company pulling out.
>>77478104
>one of the Big Two
>DC has been in Comixology's pockets for the past couple years
>Marvel is trying to push their shitty service
Gee, I wonder who it is pulling out
>>77478126
What would marvel do ?
>>77478142
Marvel Unlimited or whatever name of their digital thing is.
When did Billy Batson turn into Ellen DeGeneres?
>>77477960
>When did Billy Batson turn into Ellen DeGeneres?
I hope Marvel pushes Carol for another decade if only to continue to spite you weirdly fixated nerds.
>steal copyright
>attach it to nonentity character
>keep pushing that character so the name will never go back to the real owners
>don't care about the actual character
sasuga marvel
>>77477960
Are you asking when DC dropped the Captain Marvel name?
That would be in the 1970s with the Shazam Power Hour and other shows, when they finally understood that they'd never actually owned the name and the character essentially lost the name in 1953, when they forced his owners to stop publishing him.
I'm genuinely surprised you'd show any kind of loyalty to a company that basically destroyed the original Captain Marvel with the full intention of doing so, then acted surprised when the very thing they had made worthless and irrelevant was still worthless and irrelevant decades later.
I'm even more surprised that you can't accept Carol or Mar-Vell or any of the others who've born the name with distinction and honor over the last 50 years as the spiritual successor of Billy Batson, especially since that either means you're a revisionist with a poor understanding of history and law, or were a kid sometime in the 1940s or early 50s at the latest; since any adult reader then (who would by default also be an obsessive weirdo) would be in their late 80s or 90s now, and anybody who claimed to grow up with Captain Marvel any later than that is a) fixated on shows that ran for like one season and weren't very good, and b) firmly in the "Berenstein" camp of obsessive wackjobs and delusional nobodies.
I mean come on OP, even as trolling this is fucking weak. Couldn't you think of anything clever?
>>77477834
what the fuck is going on inside that hood that's terrifying
>>77477834
I thought that was a shitty Skull Kid for a second. God, I'm fine with the Romani part, but damn, that is terrible.
>spooky native American inspired Robin
Neat, I like i-
>gricorrs
>transboy
>asexual
Oh
Ooooooooh no
It's retarded
>Romani
I'm okay with that
I found this symbolic metaphoric theory for the plot of batman, what do you think
Theory; Gotham City is a representation of the Perfect Society
The City itself is how the rich view everyone that isn't in the 1%
Batman is the "Crusader" in the background that exposes the Elite
The Elite, in this case, are the ones that Batman exposes the crimes of
The Elite plead insanity, and get sent to Arkham Asylum, to be "reformed"
The Elite spend a little time there, and "escape" to wreak more havoc
The "Crusader," working in the shadows, is stuck in a cycle of "exposing," the Elite
The "Criminals," that aren't Super- are in fact the laborers working under the 1%
The average criminal only works as "henchmen" for $$$
Those employers are the "Corporations (Gangs)," that run everything in the open Batman, and the Gangs (Corporations) represent the ongoing theme of The People vs The Man
The "henchmen / criminals," are the poor bastards that are "employed/recruited" so they can feed their families
End of Theory
makes sense
Oh wow, that's really interesting.
>>77477751
I'm not totally opposed to this but it seems like a contrarian response to "Batman is the 1%."
>The Elite plead insanity, and get sent to Arkham Asylum, to be "reformed"
>The Elite spend a little time there, and "escape" to wreak more havoc
The problem is that "The Elite" don't actually get captured or forced to "reform" in the real world. Unless you're treating "bad publicity for a week" as a "trip to Arkham."
>The "Criminals," that aren't Super- are in fact the laborers working under the 1%
>The average criminal only works as "henchmen" for $$$
>Those employers are the "Corporations (Gangs)," that run everything in the open >Batman, and the Gangs (Corporations) represent the ongoing theme of The People vs The Man
This I really like though. The only problem is that I'd rather just watch Robocop.
They are a lot of things that don't come to get translated to english,as all around the world people are producing art and only so much of it can pass the language barrier to come to pepople like me. Now particularly tragic case of this is the french comic zlbu cops why is this tragic well becuase from what a picked uped from the art style alone is that this comic is vibrant full of color and engry and it's about a bunch of incompetent yet heroic cops
the art style can be presnted here and i just love every thing about it from the cell shaded style to the color to the large amount of details and it's energy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlam3iEszGk
as you see here in this video the overall ridiculousness and energy translated well to animation and even the singing conveys it. i also love how it says justice rapidly as he punches the man in the bunny suit
if you want to learn more about this series i would recommend reading the french Wikipedia article for it from what i read it seems pretty interesting
now that sadest thing about zblucops is it could of been intrduced to the west by a game for the wii if you want to learn more about that read this article http://www.unseen64.net/2015/06/22/zblu-cops-cancelled-wii/
or if you are lazy and hate reading watch this video from the same guy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0nX3j-WHic
any way in consulsion thinking about stuff like this makes me glad a game like depoina reached the shores of a ameracunt
Look on the bright side, they're finally translating some of guillaume singelin's stuff. If you like Zblu's aesthetics you'll most likly dig that guys stuff too.
>>77477453
link me to it please

>"kid cartoon"
>it "breaks the mold" with an obtuse, overcomplicated, and uninteresting backstory and lore because cartoons can't be fun anymore
>>77477037
>it gets extra views anyways
whats the issue cumlord
Steven Universe.
Also we had the same thread a few days ago.
>>77477037
Bitch, I bet you'd love your waifu robot cartoon if it wasn't so mediocre and had some kind of lore.
So episode 3 confirmed what /co/ suspected all along: Kara wants to ride the Jimmy.
How long until the most progressive couple is official?
>romance
Dropped. Stop forcing that unnecessary drama shit into everything.
>>77477013
Why are you so mad he's black?
The shitty part is he is not Jimmy at all.
Are you suggesting that she would be better off with friendzone? Because she really wouldn't.
Isn't she the greatest superhero of all time?
Name one that's unambiguously better, considering their entire canon. You can't.
>>77476821
No idea who this is. Seems there is no reason to care.
Literally who
>>77477910
>>77477927
She's a lesbian from Lesbian Pocket Universe created by a gay Jewish kid.
>constantly bitching about everyone and everything
>keeps letting her emotions dictate her actions despite everyone else, even fucking Toph, thinking realistically and rationally about things because of the gravity of what they're doing
>potentially jeopardizes their mission more than once because of her selfishness and "need to help" attitude despite the fact that she was told more than once that stopping to help every single person who needs it would just slow them down
Why did Katara become such a shit character in book 3?
>>77476694
because it was the "fire" book, not the "water" one
>>77476694
She's a twat. See here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8CWrk7hWgM
We have this thread every day.
What could it be, /co/?
Superman.
>>77476664
Darkseid.
>>77476664
Dragon dildo
I consider this to be the first major publicity stunt the Simpsons ever pulled.
I'm pretty sure Maude was killed off to spite her VA before this happened, so that was closer to being (one of) the first. And the Critic crossover. Probably other stuff I can't think of right now too.
This is a really fucking bad episode though; that musical number is so awkward to sit through.
>>77476606
Ok. I mean, it definitely wasn't, but it's ok that you think that.
>>77476606
> first
New episode of TMNT in a few minutes
>When Lord Dregg hires a robo-shark bounty hunter to destroy the turtles, the team flees to an abandoned space station.
WE ARMAGGON NOW
>>77476491
Dregg is lame. In the intro he's always portrayed as being beaten by April and in the actual debut ep? April kicked his ass.
Any villain who is owned by April? Is a loser. Karai included because April has no business being competent.
Oh hey, Fugitoid backstory
>>77476524
>Karai included because April has no business being competent.
Hey, go fuck yourself.
Blame shitty writing, Karai is badass.
>Shaquille O'Neil with Johnnny Bravo vs Seth Green with Huckleberry Hound in basketball
Are there any episodes of any show that you saw that felt like a bad fever dream?
Yep.
This one
>>77476218
>Shaquille O'Neil with Johnnny Bravo vs Seth Green with Huckleberry Hound in basketball
What? Source please.
tried this yesterday, didn't really catch on
if you had just one comic(series, single book, short story, anthology mag, doesn't matter as long as it's part of a single title) you could show to someone curious but ignorant about comics which in your opinion makes the most out of the medium, just one comic that you think of first when you think of genuinely exemplary comics, what would that comic be?
Good luck even getting an issue of Raw for yourself.
nothing? shit, dudes
Is this person literate in the English language?
I recommend the wordless comics of Jim Woodring's "Frank" just in case they aren't.
