Because people generally liked it. Not everyone and nobody really hated it, so it generates just the right amount of interest to not spawn any arguments or fandoms. I think it's better that way. So remember, just walk away friend

I'm pretty sure they just don't know how, not yet anyway. According to Liz's vision back in King of Fear the bureau is supposed to become some kind of world army complete with power armor, helicarriers and apparetly a returned Hellboy (!) so I'm sure if that comes to pass they'll mass-produce it. Still in the end they lose even with all that stuff so I don't know how effective they'd be. Menman Saa also wanted 369 suits/vril monsters back in Lobster Johnson so I suppose one can...
