Homestuck was a defining feature of my life for four years. it gave me impossible standards for convoluted plots, plot twists, clever dialog, in-series mythology, and more that I don't think another series is ever going to fulfill. For the past few months my only thoughts about homstuck were "I miss enjoying that."

The other CG's have gem constructs, like Garnet's gauntlets. Peridot originally had artificial limbs that acted similarly (that have been long since destroyed) so is she not capable of making her own constructs, or is it possible she just doesn't know how like Steven in the first season?

It really depends. Jasper was able to create her helmet, so we at least know that Homeworld knows how to make constructs.
She probably needs to learn how. The rubies didn't all have the iron fist like ours did in the Homeworld flashback.
