She's a close descendant of a coven that used to lord over the town, and as such, she grew up drinking in good ol' granny's stories of the golden days, and has a hidden obsession about it. Why do reactionary comics always have such awful art
Same reason 99% of comics have such awful art, most artists are awful.
Because the goal is to make a quick buck on inflammatory material, not quality material.
I'm pretty sure Mystique counts as trans. That guy/girl/thing from Doom Patrol. The Skrull from Runaways. I'm sure I'm missing some.

I thought it was gonna be a cool action show about magic and aliens with epic fights and Steven gradually mastering his power until he's doing cool shit in a couple seasons.
