But DD, JJ, Cage, and Fist was part of the original plan. They didn't plan on doing a second season of Daredevil until they found out the reception for Season 1 was immense.
The Second Daredevil Season was like a giant promo for the Punisher. Doesn't make sense not to give him a series.

The movie is great 8/10. Affleck is maybe the best Batman and certainly the best Bruce Wayne. Plot is strong but Snyder once again manages to deliver the 1st and 2nd act in a weird/slow way. Fan Service everywhere and you are going get 4 very special surprises.

Turns out we won't be getting any real political figures in this series, which means no Trump, but there will still be plenty of political satire.
Other highlights include Angela being his head of security, Sam Wilson getting involved and the narrator being a political journalist we can suposedly trust.
