You guys really want Trump with the nuclear suitcase? Like seriously, imagine it's 3 am and the white house gets a call saying that a nuclear launch detection station has detected a full scale launch from Russia headed to the U.S. A ballistic missile travels about 4 miles per second, so Trump would have about 10 minutes at max to decide whether to retaliate, whether it's a false positive, and how to retaliate. He would do this knowing that if it really is an attack and he doesn't respond, most of America is destroyed including our stockpile of nukes, and if he responds and it's a false positive, he'd be launching global nuclear war for nothing.
Do you really want Trump making that call?
And before you say that the idea of a false positive is absurd, or that i'm being ridiculous, know this: This has already happened. It happened in 1979 when Carter was president; a false positive, and then another false positive came through, and he had 6 minutes to decide what to do. He didn't respond and the world survived.
Seriously try to imagine Trump in that scenario, and imagine if he would have the wherewithal to hold off on launching a civilization-ending nuclear strike for nothing.

First of all I'd be more worried about Russia, their technology hasn't been updated in the last 30 years. America's on the other hand has been updated to reduce false positives. We have more advanced spy satellites and detection systems including ground based systems.
