Last spirit circle. This life's about a kid named Fuuta.
Is there... some way to get our images to expand all the way again? I apologize if it's been all over the board, I haven't been on today.
Oh, and the last thread was at >>139397085. Follow it down a few threads for links.

I believe we will be restored to the old layout at midnight Eastern time, GMT -4 this time of year.
Thanks for the dump so far.
>>139458024
Did it get explained why that happened? Was it because Fortuna was changing the future by possessing his future self?
>>139458125
You'll find out
>>139458089
Fone stopped bleeding.
>>139457033
>I'm losing brain cells just looking at it
Fortuna was here
>>139458125
Yes.
>>139458176
Huh. So he did.
I guess he never accepted Rei as a daughter.
>>139458284
>Rei
>Fortuna's teacher
>Fone's young love
>Vann's adopted daughter
>now being reborn as Okeya's sister alongside Flambe.
>>139458358
One of the only disappointments for me was how little of an impact Rei had after Vann. Might have been intentional.
>>139456520
I think the kid in the seat in front of him was in a past life too.
>>139457033
Marie sighting
>>139457830
I think the middle panel has much potential.
I can practically hear them all shouting some game specific variants of "gg, NOOB!"
This is great.
>>139458627
I imagine the other lives didnt really need Rei. Fortuna on the otherhand needed Rei pretty badly but he is pretty much beyond saving since he is constantly rejecting her lessons.
>>139456870
This is such a sick burn
>>139458885
I understand it, how he stops yearning so much for Rei and starts leaning on Kouko, but Rei was an incredible presence in the first two lives. I was interested in her story, then he walked her off and gave her away for good. I wish we could have had a few pages of spirit Vann or Fone talking about her, or a side chapter where Nono has a weird dream about her past lives.
>>139459139
I hadn't said a proper goodbye to her. I don't like her last scene being the one where she's talking with the gravestone. I understand that after whatever life she had there she probably went straight to modern Japan, it makes sense mechanically, but story-wise I wanted more of her. She fills a niche no one else in the story can.

>>139459368
>DM rigs via inventory list.jpg
>>139459492
I wonder why Fortuna didnt realise the net was meant for him. Did he fail to notice the aliens when he looked at his future lives?
>>139459552
>Did he fail to notice the aliens when he looked at his future lives?
Thats why the aliens hypnotized them. So Fortuna could not see it
>>139458321
So what exactly is the significance of seeing Rei again? And why do I only remember her from a few lives?
>>139459583
She was also Fortuna's master, her death and East's were basically the only deaths that actually affected him.
>>139458885
>>139459139
>>139459229
Her role is exactly the salvation for Fortuna.
Remeber what she said in Vann route? Yeah that's it.
One other thing that can be considered that her soul determined that reincarnation in the story line will not fix the broken soul of Fortuna (who wait in spirit circle) so she wait till the right time.
>>139459699
Oh, yeah, I understand it, I just don't like it.
>>139459583
During Vanns life they had a happy life so they didnt really have much to learn from each other anymore. Vann died content and Reis incarnation was probably happy too. Fortuna said its not unusual for souls to drift away over time once they have nothing to learn from each other.
On the otherhand Fortuna still had something to learn from Rei so she appeared again because of him.
>>139459802
Fuuta has nothing to learn from Tetsu, they just really like hanging out.
>>139459907
>oketani
Reverse gender with different names?
>>139460028
Probably a mistranslation from when they were speedscanning it.
I think reading it over three years made me forget that it's just a simple story about a simple man. Rereading it every month really got me invested in Rei.
I'm just trying to imagine what voice acting for this series could be like. Especially once you would include Fuuko's life.
>>139459994
I got the impression the souls that hang around Fuutas incarnations are also learning things from each other, not just Fuuta.
>>139459952
Even Fuuta didn't know why the fuck Flambe was there. What the heck does that like mean "tell us of our chance to heal people..."?
>>139460216
Yeah, his friends seem to end up with karmic debts to each other frequently too.
>>139460216
They're only like that in Fuuta's brain because of the Spirit Circle. It's like if you took the HDD from 7 different computers and plugged it into your own.
>>139460091
So it shouldbe Okeya'
>>139460336
>Rei doesn't remember Spascifica from the Lost Age because she did that one first and forgot most of it
Nice touch.
Also Warrior Koko could have died old, we have no idea.
>>139460290
Fucking Buddhist moment of clarity where he's just like "I finally understand more of the plot than you schmucks"
>>139460028
>>139460091
>>139460402
What's wrong with Oketani? Why wouldn't a different life have a different family name?
>>139460258
Crunchyroll translates it as "Master Rei cured you while you were inside me" and "Flambe granted you and me an opportunity to heal humanity".
Still not sure what that means.
>>139460402
I think so, that's what Crunchy did in the genderbend chapter.
I say Crunchy but I think they had one person translate it. I hope they liked it.
>>139460343
He means Fuuta's friends. Anyone else notice Cielo just disappearing aside from Vann and Fuuta's lives? Maybe he's closer to Rei than he is to Fuuta.
>>139460168
There was a recent anime that had a genderbending arc - yeah, Gintama. They pulled in a bunch of cameos for it. It was amazing.
One of the neat parts would be hearing the same actors do all of their different roles. Fuuta's VA would need an amazing range.
>>139460513
>"Flambe granted you and me an opportunity to heal humanity"
Flambe helped you nuke the soul tower and excommunicated you because of your face scar. Whoop-de-fucking-do.
>>139459862
>>139459907
I'm a complete sucker for this kind of "Different people finally uniting to prove the same thing or fight under the same cause" developments.
My favorite scene in the whole manga. Really ties up all of the previous lives together.
>>139460569
I think he's there to be a decent brother for Fuuta this time, seeing as his redemption as Ash happened too late.
>>139460568
Rune, master shipper.
>>139460568
and here it is.
>>139460521
>I can reroll them back into the campaign and set up new character sheets for them. That good with you.
Fixed the mistranslation.
>>139460568
We better get an epilogue or some shit with Koko and Fuuta getting together, just for the sake of seeing best girl be reborn.
>>139460625
Too bad she said "Master and Koko", not "Fuuta and Kouko"
>>139460521
Maybe. He probably had a fucking ton of lives to get to the pure soul he is now. Cielo has a connection to Carol and lived in Vann's life with Nono too.
>>139460625
She broke Nono's heart
>>139460568
Rune is a best
>>139460568
>>139460618
>I need your consent to turn you into humans
>I need your consent to take the spirit circles
>doesn't need Kouko's consent to make her a mother
Kek.
>>139460650
But she just barely was.
>>139460679
I don't like what you're trying to imply here.
>>139460679
>implying Spacifica is stupid
I can't wait for people to give Fuuta weird looks because his daughter refuses to call him anything other than "Master"
>>139460681
Nono is supposed to be Kouko and Fuuta's daughter.
>>139460680
I knew Cielo was in Lafalle's time somewhere. So he has a connection to Nono much stronger than his connection with Fuuta, and I bet he was good friends with Rei. I declare it canon.
>>139460216
>>139459994
Why you guys keep on about "learning" while in fact it is what interest their soul determine the location? Granted learning is also one of many reasons too, but things like fondness, love, bonding and care are also stay strong (nono for love, his mother for caring, etc.)
>>139460679
I dont think he is wishmaster level of dick. He knows what she meant.
>>139460792
That's Carol in Lafelle's time.
>>139460805
That's my point about Fuuta, Daiki, and Tetsu. They keep getting reincarnations where they're close just because they're bros.
>>139460850
Akari (tired to adopt her, both died)> Carol (actually adopted her, both died) > Fuuta/Kouko offspring
Rune stole her spot
Makes you wonder if people reincarnate. Then how would people get to heaven?
Rolling with the initial anon translation because I don't have Stalker's as a zip. He dumped it in... was it Houtarou's thread? It was before Lafalle, I know that.
>>139460896
Kouko's tears are worth more.
>>139460950
East, asexual or gay?
>>139460907
Nono already exists in Fuuta's time.
>>139460949
A lot of Buddhist schools view heavens as better places to reincarnate. One school that was extremely popular in Japan taught that hailing the Amida Buddha guaranteed you a place in his western paradise, from which you would be guaranteed Nirvana.
>>139461015
Nonlinear fuckery. Tried to enter the fetus and Rune was already camping there like a bitch, so she had to choose someone else and make it so Rune is never born in the first place, which would mean that Kouko and Fuuta never breed, which would mean Nono can't be their daughter, which would...
It's impressive that Rune can even become human in the first place, considering she's an artificial spirit.
>>139460907
Fuuta/Koko/Nono 3P while Nono pretends to be their daughter?
>>139460949
Wait, am I reading this right? You're uncertain about reincarnation but sure that people go to heaven?
>>139461015
In this timeline she got to have a dad that owns a hospital that could take care of Fuuta. She's always giving him more than he gives her.
>>139460999
Nah, he's just faithful to his master.
I'm stiill waiting for timeline of massive harem
fuuta x rei x koko x rune x nono
>>139461075
Fortuna is a genius, everyone else is just dumb.
>>139460999
As a spirit asexual i imagine. In life he could have had a crush on Rune but it was never shown. Though if he had a crush on her it was kind of a hopeless one anyway since Rune was a spirit.
>>139461112
>implying it's not this one
>brocon/fathercon/bigamy
>>139461096
If you don't understand faith you'll have a hard time getting this manga, anon.
Not trying to start a muh skywizard thread. Spirituality is just super-important to Mizukami and you won't get him if you don't get that. Believing in heaven more than you believe in life makes sense to me. Just take that as a cultural difference for now.
>>139461075
Didnt Fortuna use some girls spirit to make her?
>>139461153
>In life he could have had a crush on Rune
So gay? Since Rune is somewhat of a piece of consciousness formed from Fortuna's own soul anyways.
>>139461198
It was spirit energy from the girl's spirit but the soul itself was made from Fortuna's own.
>>139461111
Just noticed the floor is made of roots. Wood Element? Also gods get quads.
>>139461259
>Wood Element?
Tree of life.
>>139461096
I'm saying is,what about the souls of those who died that are in the afterlife?
>>139461282
For sure. Just wondering if he might have slipped us the Chinese elements. Idle speculation. It's neat that the table they grow spirits on is made of life.
>>139461302
In this universe, whales, planets, gods. They bounce around as humans while the Elements or whoever polishes them, learning how to turn whatever crap they get handed into heaven on Earth.
>>139461259
>>139461282
There's also the whole Matsuri Connection thing.
>>139461194
I get the spirituality aspects of his work mate, never said any of it confused me.
It just struck me as strange that someone can doubt and assert two broadly similar concepts in the same sentence. Surely a belief in one should precipitate an acceptance of the other?
>>139461302
They probably don't stay there forever. Nonlinearity of reincarnation to time in Mizukami's universe means that it doesn't matter anyway, since there can be an infinite number of reincarnations between any given life and a possible 'permanent' afterlife.
>>139461378
That guy looks like Anima.
>>139461328
I wonder if we'll get a Soul Patrol manga where the people in the alien suits are going around the multiverse stopping Tribes of the Void and distributing bug nets.
>>139461438
Gods reincarnation is so mind fucking.
>>139461438
Oh, sorry about that. Here's one possible interpretation:
Anon sees (presumably Christian?) heaven as real. No doubt, no fear. Reads SC and is intrigued by reincarnation, wonders how it might work, but heaven is rock-solid in his world-view, so he wants to find a model of reincarnation that fits with the real world.
>>139461530
Why are they laughing. I don't get it.
>>139461530
>They know
>>139461557
>I'm gonna get to hang out with Umi and Nono again, so excited
>I can't wait to burn this house down
>>139461530
God fucking dammit I want to cum inside Nono so bad.
>>139461557
Flambe is laughing because he got to ruin Fortuna's plan again, Rei is laughing because this reincarnation of Fortuna's soul is less intelligent than her.
>>139461557
They caused Fortuna to shit bricks just by being born, id laugh a lot too.
Crack theory: East matures into Rei. East-god is Rei and East both. Vann and Fone's attachment to Rei comes from their happy family life with East.
>>139461634
As if. He'll get into Toudai motherfucker. He fucking grasped enough that he could casually call out Spacifica and dogeza him into getting what he wants. Fortuna never realized that.
>>139461683
WHO DID FUUKO FUCK?!
>>139461689
Yep. Nothing wrong with his brain and he's an old soul. And he'll have Rei coming along to ganbare nii-chan.
>>139461730
Probably was too distracted by the Fuji Roof to notice. The people around her at her deathbed are fem-Flambe and man-Rei's kids.
>>139461683
For some reason this page realy gets me sad ;_;
>>139461734
Been waiting for this page to be posted
Did anyone else catch that Fortuna never actually died in his life? He just traveled in mid-fall to Fuuta's present and took over his body?
This page is him coming back to his present, dying, and then starting up his life as Fone. It's a natural progression.
>>139461633
She has a huge rack
>>139461789
It's because Fone and Flors know they're failures. They're just staring into the abyss, contemplating how they'll overcorrect in the next life.
>>139461798
I think he died mid-fall.
>>139461225

It is very strange to think of it being gone.
>>139461983

Oh, were we going to send Mizukami a card? I was off /a/ during the Biscuit Hammer finale so I don't remember exactly what we did there. I already sent him a personal thank-you note on Twitter. Hopefully my feelings got across.

>>139462248
That makes sense actually. There's probably some residual personalities left in her. We get the handshake which is the moment Koko lets Fortuna go and then Kouko gives him the kiss.
>>139462360
Oh. That was it, guys, that was Spirit Circle unless we get an epilogue.
And I don't think we need it. He already had Kouko and Fuuta talk about how we aren't getting answers about Spascifica or the aliens, he gave us the gods' D&D table, he's shown us how good lives go and how bad lives go.
Not saying I don't want one so bad it hurts, though. Because I do.
>>139462315
This is how the tsundere do.
But seriously it was badly translated, I'll look for the Stalker page.
Are any of Mizukami Satoshis other works similar to this?
Good shit. I'm always glad when good manga have a good ending. Or any ending, for that matter.I cried on the second to last chapter when I read it a week or two ago.
>>139462360

They literally already went on a date, at the zoo and everything. This is manga zoo date is basically like getting married.
>>139462425
The aliens are obviously them from another time (probably their gods version) simply because they joke about it. Classic Mizukami.
And Spascifica was also their gods version. They are basically a Deus ex Machina.
>>139462324
>falling for a manlet
>>139462518

>>139462360
>>139462425
I think we will get something, though not necessarily from Fuuta's POV. Maybe another post-story sideshow like aloha boy from Samidare.
I'm pretty keen on seeing Spirit Circle references in Mizukami's following works, though. Maybe a far-future one shot with a one-off hint at Fuuta and Kouko's relationship, like that one short story featuring one of Shinsuke's descendants.
>>139462476
Not in plotting, but yes. If you enjoyed Spirit Circle you will probably enjoy Biscuit Hammer, and you might have a hard time with Sengoku Youko but stick with it.
>>139462476
Similar in the sense of well planned stories yes. Or regular people getting some sort of power while still being regular people too.
But dealing with time travel / reincarnations? No.
>>139462554
She was just salty she lost the Fuukobowl.
>>139462360
Figure he's going to force himself to get over the mental block Fortuna mentioned in >>139456478 and get smart enough to make it it into Tokyo U. Epilogue in June supposedly.
Thanks OP for the dump. This was one of the better manga I've read in a long while. Wasn't as big a fan of Biscuit Hammer so I probably wouldn't have sought out this manga on my own if not for your dump.
>>139462656
So smooth, Koko
>>139462652
Well, Samidare touches on time travel and reincarnations (recurring motif in his work) but it's not the focus.
>>139462425
Calling it now.
The final volume will have an Epilogue.Fuuta and Koko reunite in college, and the epilogue focuses on their life as a married couple. We'll get to see their kids, and we'll learn thatFuuta became a mangaka, and his comic is RoboCat

Chartfag here. Since we've got people in here how about I give you all an excuse to reread the series once more?
It occurs to me that Mizukami may planted some of his side characters in the backgrounds before they were actually given roles and he's tweeted people to give the whole series a reread. There's a good chunk out find out there so let's play where's waldo and beat the man at his game.
Haven't gotten to put in the new faces yet since I need to go hunting down for the fonts I used in my previous computer but here's a reference to help along. The guys from the living towers aren't in yet and they've shown up in the lost age too btw.

Vann killed the village the medicine woman was trying to cure.
Fone caused a rebellion which turned him into the next god to be sacrifed to.
Houtarou refused to die which made his brother lose his cool when the goverment came to kick his ass. Though this is debatable if it was really his fault.
Lafalle killed a bunch of brains.
Fuuko i cant think of killing anything.
Fuuta still has time to cause mass deaths.

>>139463962
Fortuna drifted off from the spirit net just wanting to be normal like Fuuta. He wound up getting worshiped as a god.
Mizukami planned this pretty well, didn't he?

Hello there Animus.
So I guess all of Mizukami's works are confirmed related by this.

We had pretty much the same reaction as Fuuta did.
I think our biggest threads were the skeleton king ones. There might have even been a /tg/ thread about that.
>>139464140
Yeah well, Mizukami really probably wrote the plot after Flors anyways. I think he was trying to start it off as some kind of reincarnation ghostbusters.
>>139464206
I hope this thread survives until tomorrow so we can discuss this properly, this april fools faggotry makes it impossible to follow conversations
>>139464140
You can command the circle to do different things.
>>139464140
The circle wasn't complete then, just 4 fires. All it did was jog his soul a little and he started remembering the past
>>139464307
Can the circle do your homework?
>>139464140
She was intending to send him back to a past life. Later she mentions that she could have just tapped him with it but she wanted to hit him.
>>139464339
Sure, just hit yourself with it until you view a past life where you were a genius, and then tell that past life to do it for you.
It was a nice wild ride. The story was quite simple itself, well except for some bits of soul theory, MU, and PU/AU but that was explained very well. With Mizukami's execution, it made the series and all of his series absolute masterpieces.
I hope his name and his works will become more widespread as he really deserves it.
Are there any plans for a card when the official translation from CR is released?

>>139464399
She wasn't even doing it for revenge she's doing it because Fuuta's soul is inherently a genocidal lunatic.

That's just how she justifies it.
>>139464606
Can't refute that.
I wonder what would he have done this time if he was left alone.
>>139464606
He is only genocidal in Fortuna and Lafalle lives.

Lafalle was trying to save the human race. It's not genocide if they're dead.

Well yes, its quite possible Fuuko was actually a genocidal lunatic. Fuuta is a ticking time bomb.

Yeah, agreed. They don't have to only reincarnate close to one another because they have something to learn. Hell, the whole reason why Fortuna is even doing this is because he wants to be close to Koko and East again. He was just being cynical when he said that Rei wouldn't show up in front of him again because she had "nothing more to learn" from him.
>>139466037
It's kinda him being assblasted too because she was literally HIS teacher.
>>139466037
>He was just being cynical
To be fair, he did view the other lives and didn't see Rei in them. That includes Fuuta's life prior to him changing things via hijacking.
>>139466118
No, I mean he was being cynical to interpret things that way. There may be other reasons why she wouldn't show up again. Some people just don't enter back into your life again, even if your relationship was good and amicable.
>>139466107

>>139461111
>quads for gods
Magnificent.
>>139461258
No, all Fortuna did was form the consciousness.
The difference from spirits like that of humans and animals and spirit matter (plant and rock spirits) is that of the level of their consciousness. He created her soul, but that was only because he raised the level of consciousness of the ghost combined with the spirit matter to raise it up. He did not generate anything else, he simply formed her consciousness.
>>139461798
No, he died during the fall. That's why he said he was being "freed from the yoke" of his physical body.
>>139466448
>only because he raised the level of consciousness of the ghost
Where did you read that? It doesn't say that at all. It wouldn't be a new soul if it was just a ghost's soul.
>>139466557
The phrase is like "well since I'm dying anyways, might as well try that"
>>139467006
No, it was explained earlier what the difference between spirit matter and spirits like theirs' (Fortuna and Rei's, everyone else's) are. It's simply the difference in their level of consciousness. When it's high enough, they become able to observe this world of ours.
It's a new soul because it's created from lesser ingredients. Spirit matter combined together instead of naturally rising up on their own. It's like baking a cake; you combine different ingredients and then process it to make something new.
>>139467115
Exactly, he constructed her with spirit matter and then formed her pseudo-soul by using his own spirit dimension as a medium. That's why she can't reincarnate until the end, because she's not a soul with her own spirit dimension but a branch shooting off of Fortuna's
>>139467430
Uh, yeah. Same thing with East and the spirit circle/Koko after binding herself to it, then Koko and Fortuna after taking her with his spirit circle.
He didn't make her from his own spirit, anon, she simply exists within his own spirit dimension, like how everyone else exists within the "heaven's river".
He didn't form the soul out of his own soul, he only acts as a receptacle to contain her. To put it into a metaphor, it's like if his body was made of brown clay, he got some green clay (ghost girl and spirit matter) and attached it to his body then formed it into Rune. His soul isn't the material, it's just what forms her existence.
>>139460949
You reincarnate and learn something until you clearly know about the truth of the universe or 'enlightened' or free from the circle of death and rebirth. That's might close to the heavens concept of Western. Because Buddhist, brahmin and Hindu view life as torment, you can't escape death even you're an angle. So everyone need to archive enlightenment to be free from misery otherwise you have to reincarnate endlessly.
>>139468038

While one could argue that Fuuta was a primary piece in a lot of the atrocities that plagued his lives, one has to remember that ultimately it was a bunch of other fucked up people fucking over everybody.
The only exceptions are Fortuna who was literally the person killing everybody and Lafalle who killed a bunch of brains.
Fone never managed to kill anybody, he simply shook the elder's authority which resulted in the stupid villagers overthrowing them and stupidly perpetuating the cycle.
Vaan killed one good person(plus a bunch of assassins), Koko as a medicine maker, this puts him partially responsible to the deaths of many sick people. The church was also his impetus however and ultimately it is a natural cause that claimed those people.
Flors made a shitty statue, it was the King who was a genocidal maniac who decided to cull Alvol's entire village. Frankly if anybody is to be blamed in this entire fiasco, it's that guy, otherwise everybody who worked on the statue as well as the village who accepted it would be culpable as well.
Houtarou did nothing but choose to live(plus kill a bunch of assassins). It was Flambe who agitated the government and caused a small war. That Flambe has anger issues is his issue, not Houtarou's.
Lafalle killed a bunch of brains, whether that is an atrocity or a mercy is something that is debatable. All of them should've been dead already as well if they weren't brain vatted. In the end though, the black hole bomb fucked up everything and was much more of a concerning issue.
Something I always found a bit bothersome though was how Koko blamed Fuuta primarily for a lot of that crap. Seems her hateboner for Fortuna pretty much blinded her judgement in a lot of other lives. It felt like the two times her family was culled(Aztec and Egypt)she was more resentful of Fuuta to the point of simply using the fact to drive in more guilt into him.
>>139462608
>one shot story
Two or three shots maybe?
>>139469618
>Seems her hateboner for Fortuna pretty much blinded her judgement in a lot of other lives.
Well, East did say that Kouko was being influenced by Koko (of the Fortuna time period), so I'd argue that her hateboner sprung from there primarily. The twin impregnation hatesex is going to be glorious.

Fuuta while the same soul is the only person who understood them. Their memories, experiences, life wisdom they had are, the things Fuuta had, were their only "proof" they lived. Now they'll be forgotten.

I was at the hospital the entire day, sorry, I'll make a thread and dump it now.
I was away last weekend, so I ended up reading through the reread threads after the last chapter.
I found some interesting foreshadowing to the last arc and even the last chapter, so I wrote down some notes.
Probably the biggest one is from Vann's last chapter (ch. 7 p. 13) where Rei talks about a dream where a God sent her to Vann because he needed her company.
That has to be one of the four gods from the last chapter, right?
I also had a theory after reading the next chapter where Kouko mentions that Fone was treated as a God after his death.
Maybe the same happened to Koko after she died and that's related to how two of the Gods look like them.
The weird spirit(?) cat from the next life (Flors) was also interesting, but I don't know if it's related to anything else. It didn't look robotic at all.
>>139472526
It's depends on the religion.
Buddhists: You don't have to reincarnate to experience grieve anymore.-> Eternal bliss
Bharmas and Hindu: Your soul return to and fuse with God of creation.->Eternal bliss
>>139475843
Wait, so if I am an atheist and believes that there is nothing after death, it means that I am an enlightened Buddhist ?
>>139476053
But before that have you already experienced suffering? If not, then you are not.
>>139475491
Reached part 5 today.
Also interesting considering my second note is this: >>139317403
>They say a hundred kills makes you a hero, but you'd be a God!
>After all, you'd be killing a hundred million.
Related, just foreshadowing or a coincidence? Who knows.
>>139475843
>You don't have to reincarnate to experience grieve anymore
When you put it like that it sounds like buddhists are just out to kill themselves.
>>139476296
Basically, except actually killing yourself doesn't work properly.
Vann was my favorite. I wish we had more incarnations interacting with the modern world like when Fuuta went to the grocery store.
>>139477351
You have no idea of what you are talking about.
Is this from the same guy who did Biscuit Hammer?
>>139477760
Yes.
Would a Mizukami fighting game work?
>>139477658
It's not literal death, but the end-state is stillness and complete detachment from everything else.
Depending on your school, that is. Mahayana Buddhism goes a step further and has the perfect end-goal be an enlightened being that achieves Nirvana and descends to the world again to guide others into escaping suffering.
>>139477924
No idea. Would be kind of cool though. We'd only have a couple of Spirit Circle characters, but with reskins/recolors for each personality from each era.
>>139478122
If Fuuta's EX atatck as Fortuna doesn't wipe out the whole game it's bullshit.
>>139478145
True, but then you'd get three out of four elemental gods calling for Wind God's chars to be nerfed, since he has both Animus AND Fortuna, with Yazen a pretty strong contender.
>>139478181
That's what happens when you have the same guy to play the OP villain to defeat every single game.
MIZUKAMIIIIII
>>139478181
Oh I'm sure one of the others have OP characters too. We know that Fire has Senya at least.
>>139478122

>Don't destroy anything, they actually enlighten other characters to godhood
>>139479703
The absolute madman
>>139479703
DEEPEST LORE
>>139476284
The theme of becoming a god through gradual enlightenment vs becoming a lame kind of god through force is a pretty steady subtext I think. I don't think Fone being worshiped has anything to do with him eventually turning into Wind, I think it was an ironic echo of Fortuna's desire for godhood.
>>139479703
I don't get it.
>>139483583
It kinda-sorta looks like the sphinx Fuuta made while he was coping with Flors.
>>139483966
I was thinking it was that too but thought it might have been something else.
Considering this came first than the sphinx it's actually a pretty cool idea to think about though.
>>139455690

>>139461111

Anyone else feels that behind this politeness and lack of voices they're being really passive-aggresive? Like they're trying to not show their anger at the asshole who almost metagamed Fortuna into their table and for the first time they had stop him themselves.
Anyway, with the gods being revealed, I imagine at some point they'll become the final boss or something, pic sort of related.
>>139467618
Then Rune would be the same as east, which she clearly isn't. She doesn't have a real soul until Spacifica gives her it. She's really just a part of Fortuna's Spirit Dimension, that's why she's always in those scenes where Fuuta's traveling to his past lives.
East was fucking haunting Koko, he wasn't a part of her spirit dimension, he had his own already.
>>139486163
But they're not antagonistic. Even Biscuit Hammer wasn't about getting powerful enough to defeat your enemies, it was about how smashing things doesn't solve them. If a character did make it to the gaming table he'd probably be warmly welcomed and have all his fears soothed by them.
The gods are closer to Mizukami than they are to the characters. Mizukami wants to see his children come closer to enlightenment. He doesn't want to prove that mortals don't need gods.
>>139486428
>we will never get a chapter where we see who Kouko talks to when she experiences her past lives

>>139486163
Yeah that's what I thought too. Like everyone is internally staring daggers at the chuuni petting the dog who ruined their campaign.
I bet the DM originally set it up so Laffale's Soul Prison was the main plot. But no, Wind had to derail it with his retarded characters and make it all about him.
>>139486469
Sure, but I still feel a bit blueballed about Fortuna being dragged down by the gods right as he was about to ascend, and the fact they only tried to stop him from getting closer to them and remained silent over his genocide.
There seems to be a clear separation between intellect (and the conscious pursuit of enlightment) and just going along with things and let enlightment ferment itself across countless lifetimes (the correct way to do it), and I'm not sure if I agree fully wit that. Of course, it's Mizukami who sets the rules not me, and it was still a great ride.
>>139487369
>Sengoku Youko Campaign - a weary ronin travels alongside demons in attempt to become stronger, but will eventually becomes the bonds that fuse the 2 races together
>Wind god having none of that, starts making his characters become gods
>Biscuit Hammer Campaign - Little boy and girl are espers living in the future
>Wind god says fuck it, and makes the boy start destroying planet with god powers
Kick him out of the circle.
>>139487513
Genocide isn't that big of an issue from their perspective. It's really Spascifica's problem, he's the one that didn't want humanity's experience of death perverted. He wasn't strong enough to stop Fortuna which is, again, his problem.
Fortuna's pursuit of enlightenment was unbalanced. He was never really going to achieve godhood, just mess everything up and become lonely again. In between lives he looked for enlightenment consciously, in how he changed in between each of his lives. The point of the story is that Fuuta is more enlightened than Fortuna, that this ordinary awkward kid has the authority and seniority to lecture this godlike sorcerer.
The Elements weren't the ones that stopped him, either, it was his future. They just provided the bug net (a symbol of childhood and innocence).
Anyway think of a soul as a tree. Fortuna was building an industrial-strength stretching machine to make it taller. The Elements provide fertilizer and let it grow.
>>139487637

Dunno, I think his That Guy tendencies worked to improve the campaign in Snegoku Youko's case. That's what reigning in your antagonist's powerlevel does for you: strong enough to give the story an epic scale but not enough to devolve it into "lel I blow up the planet gg"
Plus Shinsuke's character development blew anything else out of the water, so it's good that the campaign lasted longer.

I just think he was like "Fuck it, I'm gonna die, better enter my spirit dimension and jump into Fuuta's body.
That's why he was so much different than the other lives. They were just memories inside Fuuta's brain, Fortuna was Fuuta's soul trying to inhabit 2 places at once. That's why Fuuta's ego was being erased, because it's not possible for 2 souls of the same person to exist in a single body.
At the end of the manga Fortuna resumed life at the point of his death to let go and become Fone.
>>139498017
Fuuta will clearly cause ww3 with all the differences that happened with time or start the creations of superhumans, but there's gotta be some genocide in him.
I don't want to see an anime, because it will inevitably disappoint, and yet I'm really curious how they'd handle voice acting.
>>139498017
>>Houtarou
I feel so bad for Houtarou, seriously. He already accomplished the resolution in the ending but it was completely ignored and made redundant.
>>139498931
There's a reason they were such on good terms in the other two lives before Fuuta, Fortuna just couldn't give a shit about him.
>>139499049
Exactly, it didn't end up mattering whatsoever because Fuuta had to fix that shit and Koko was still assblasted.
>>139497749
>>139497384
I did it myself because it was bothering me too much.
It's very crude but is somebody is interested.
>>139499117
Fortuna only cared about Fuuta because his soul was at risk and that's a big no no, he really didn't give a shit about what conclusions he arrived to until he was forced to.
>>139498931
>tfw you solve everything and then Fortuna fucks it up
Poor Houtarou. Akari's NTR face is good here too.
Happened upon this thread by accident.
Thank you, kind anon. Picked the hell up.
Honestly, if I knew about this manga before, I would've picked it up just for the fond memories of "Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer".
>>139499574
Fuuta's life fucked a lot of development down the drain didn't it?
>>139500016
And the blueballs when Mizukami added the part about never holding hands was fucking infuriating.
>>139500016
best couple hands down.
>>139500070
Really, they worked extremely well without the need of romance.
>>139499968
>>139500016
>>139500069
Very neat arc continuity-wise
>>139500069
To be fair on that point, it didn't sound like anyone in that age was getting lewd.
>>139500444
>souls act on their direct lingering regrets
>Peasant girl (Nono) sees an old man die in a field
>Wants to know him better
>Becomes Flors' guide around egypt
>For some reason she wants to be his adopted daughter now
>Gets pretty close with Akari
>But he dies too young
>Goes the safe route by becoming a cryogenically frozen designer baby in an era with absolutely 0 deaths
>Keikaku works
>But Lafalle and Lapis die
>Carol regrets not fucking her dad
>Becomes Non
>Non dicks Fuuko but regrets not knowing what it'd be like to get impregnated and dicked by Fuuko herself
>Becomes a Nono and starts spreading her pussy for Fuuta before they're even outta middle school
I'll tell you, Nono has one FUCKED UP degenerate soul.
>>139500813
I would've enjoyed the platonic cold fish sex they'd do to keep up the appearance of a family.
>>139462287
This is gonna be the most passive beta-female love triangle in the goddamn world.
>>139501304
Fortuna? Yazen? Animus? Kids games.
Nono is wind god's true masterpiece.
>>139502683
Coco is loco, no way she is beta.
If only Shut Hell moved as quickly as Spirit Circle; I love SH but the pacing is so slow and we rarely get to see what happens in the present time
>>139504173
That's because they abandoned that plot because it was stupid and unnecessary.
>>139500069
>Carol
>On first trip with your boyfriend
>He's about to lay you across the bed and insert his tiny future dick into you for the first time
>Get a txt from Robo-Cat
>"Your Dad killed a 100 million people and then exploded."
>"Your mom shot him but then also exploded."
Wew lad.
>>139497077
>Fuuta was Fortuna = can get into Toudai
>Nono was Carol = can get into Toudai
>Kouko was Koko, who neglected her spirit studies to fight skellys = can't get into Toudai
>>139497749
But they don't show up anywhere. They're alive in Fortuna's time then they're ghosts. There's no "look, that guy's East." They don't belong on the chart any more than Spascifica does.
>>139504781
Technically East was the only one "alive"
>>139489118
Have the twins grown up and explore the characters through them.
Solid.
>>139504449
Someone caption this. Or picture it.
>>139500444
Man, all this eye sweat.
>>139462360
So he grows up to be the Mx0 guy?

「あなたのお父さんは億人が死亡した後、爆発しました。 」
「あなたのお母さんは彼を撃ったが、その後も爆発しました。 」
" After the the billion people your father died , was the explosion . "
" Although your mother shot him , then it was also the explosion . "

Maybe Rin's father from the Aztec era is one of those secondaries?
master tsun
>>139505645
With best girl always around while he goes through high-school? Yeah.
Anyone thinks Nono will follow him to Toudai?
>>139506719
he unlocked the harem routeIt is hard to believe this same author wrote the kono s garbage
>>139506588
But that's not tsun at all. She's telling the truth. Wants to hate him but can't is not the same as secretly loves him but I'm public acts like she hates him.
>>139506918
but she loves him and says she hates him just because of the previous lives
>>139506937
nono, umi, koko
>>139507149
No, what's the "kono s garbage?"
>>139506995
>>139506918
>implying it wasn't a pity kiss and she just blushes easily
>>139507228
she is a shinobi, she won't blush easily
>>139458412
>99insight.jpg
AH KOS OR SOME SAY KOSM
>>139507228
>implying she would give her first kiss to her worst enemy
>implying she doesn't respect Fuuta from the bottom of her heart
Still wondering if her crush is actually Tetsu because
>Couldn't fuck with Tetsu during Flors
>Got to fuck and breed with Tetsu during Houtarou
>Was Tetsu's daughter during Lafalle
>Was their friend during Fuuko
>Is Tetsu's second cousin/loosely related to him
It sorta feels like the romance their souls sought has already been fulfilled. Almost like how there probably will never be a Rei end.
>>139507601
She's clearly very grateful to Fuuta for concluding the whole deal with their grudge and the circles. She knows he likes her and wants to leave him with a happy memory as payment for the whole "attempted murder" thing.
>>139507678
I am 90% sure it is tetsu
they will have slightly inbred kids
>>139507388
>she is a shinobi
she is a princess!
>>139507863
I'm 90% sure too, but 10% of me really can see a "What?" ending for Umi in the epilogue
>>139507678
It'd kinda be weird too, since Umi and Tetsu are actually direct descendants of Umi and Tetsu's past incarnations. It's like double inbreeding. Fuck, die, go reincarnate as your great great great great great great grandchildren and then repeat.
>>139507913
What the fuck was with the brand she gave him following him through all his lives?
She literally was a witch and the church was right to kill her if she could do shit like that.
>>139508176
but she was minding her own business
>>139502683
Nono is the only soul that shared a strong mutual connection with both Kouko and Fuuta. I really can't imagine Mizukami writing a 3P ending in modern Japan, but boy do I want it.
>>139508365
Kek
Read the whole thing today, thought it was excellent. I'm actually slightly offended to see everybody making so light of it and stuff, like how can you mock such a beautiful story?
But I guess that's just how /a/ functions, when it follows something regularly. You can't take it seriously, and have to have some fun with it. I'm glad I read it just now instead of stretching it out across years, though.
>>139508365
he was an asshole negromancer
>>139507740
She already showed him her spats. This is something different.
>>139509131
>everybody making so light of it
Not all of us.
>>139509131
You can let massive enjoyment cool down to pleasant enjoyment enough to poke fun at and make light of some things, especially when you have about four or so years.
>>139509131
Get off your high horse m8.
You're right that the story is great, but I've been reading this since Biscuit Hammer ended. Hell, we even had proper threads commemorating the end of the series with serious discussion if you care to dig through the archives. Now we're just walking down memory lane and having a bit of fun.
>>139458412
This reminds me. What's up with the ghost-sight? Seems like a pretty useless ability for MC solely to introduce East.

You know what you have to do.
Just start another 2 series at once.
Orgo weekly.
>>139510782
All his lives have spiritual powers because Fortuna is amazing.
>>139510915
yes but it is heavily implied that the spirit world happened after the blackhole incident
>>139497749
Shouldn't the sphinxes be there too?
>>139460798
>I knew Cielo was in Lafalle's time somewhere.
Cielo was the tower manager when Lafalle started working there, and also he's the real father of Carol, and the one who genetically enhanced her.
>>139511478
The black hole incident probably didn't have anything to do with people thousands of years later having spirit technology. That's where Fuuta starts, and he's got spiritual power that seems to slowly fade over his lives.
Wait a minute. Roca was a seer, but no one else could see the cat. Flors could see spirits too.
>>139512064
So
>Guardian of/father of Nono in medieval era
>Father of Carol in the future
>Nono's teacher in the present
I love these tangential connections.
>>139512066
then it must be the translation because fortuna mentions arion
>>139512170
it was a spiritual orgy
>>139512066
My theory is that Fortunas timeline is where blackhole bomb did its thing succesfully.
>>139512329
Arion just built the subspace shelter that Fortuna has his final battle on.
>>139403299
>>139512483
>relics of an ancient civilization
so fortuna is chronologically the final
spiritually the first
>>139512706
Yep. They understand so much in the future but it takes a teenage boy to teach Fortuna what life's really about.
Been nice spending time with you, lads.
>>139509131
>to see everybody making so light of it and stuff?
examples?
>>139462204
>Nono's cucked face
>>139513031
It's not as though a joke like that will make Spirit Circle any less a GOAT manga.
