I agree with what that one anon once said about how none of this would have happened if someone had sat down and taught Fortuna right from wrong properly. Especially his master, she should have stopped instead of just leaving him on his own.

He seems to be some kind of egoist really. He only cares about his own views. He doesent reject the concept of friends since they make him happy, but strangers are worthless to him they dont make him happy. He probably wouldnt be so happy about killing everyone he doesent know if he hadnt been raised as such a shut in socially. Well, see the explanation in the second panel. The momentum generated by everyone's souls concentrating on this event/Fortuna still exist, and since souls exist outside of the bounds of space and time in the physical dimension, even if Fortuna harvested them later, their souls may still contain that "direction". Like how souls can choose to reincarnate at certain time periods and as certain people (Fuuta was "dumber" because his soul desired to be more normal, Rei and Flambe were reborn as Fuuta's siblings to try and convince Fortuna to step back from his plan). The souls still have their attention on Fortuna, even if they consciously don't remember it while incarnated. That's my take, anyway.

The witch was old, and Lapis was in her fifties.
Now, dying violently, yes, Kouko always died violently. Never really tried to let revenge go. If Iwana and Houtarou had survived and spent their lives reconciling, she might have been able to start living peaceful lives then, and never had the scar again. That's what makes it the most tragic life.
So like are ALL of Mizukami-sensei's manga just cosmic /tg/ sessions between Gods?
