So with HxH going back on hiatus for a while what are some other adventure manga to read in the meantime?
By adventure series I mean it isn't about trying to defeat some big villain or save the world. It's more about wanting to go somewhere, explore something, complete some quest or contest. Like early Dragon Ball when they were looking for the dragon balls, One Piece when they wanted to explore the sky island, or like HxH when they were trying to complete the Hunter Exam or Greed Island. Things similar to that.

Why do people seem to thing being half Super Saiyan or anything less makes the characters supposedly weaker? It's a dominate gene which means you either have it or you don't. It's the same thing with the Sharingan in Naruto. A good example of a character being weaker from being a supposed half breed would be Inuyasha.
Half saiyans were always meant to be stronger than full blooded saiyans because of greater potential due to the mixed genes. This is why Gohan and Trunks were originally meant to surpass their aging fathers

That's not true. Pan is a full but she just sucks. Gohan and Trunks surpassed their dads for a while but that's because thay were able to strain with stronger enemies than they ever did and learn their dads fighting styles and techniques to make it even as they grew up.

If Hollywood wants to make more anime adapted movies, why don't they use an actual series that's easy to adapt without butchering the characters and setting. Black Lagoon is literally one of the only series that could make for a decent adaptation. Most of the characters are white or black (aside from the Asian protagonist which they'd probably change to a white lead) and if you could take anything from it and turn it into a movie, you could literally just use the aspects of guns, action and drinking and smoking, and still make it relatively close to the main setting...

I agree, however most of the movie would feasibly cover only the first (maybe second arc). A lot of the backstreet back story involving Revy would have to be squeezed. If they made just one movie to cover like the first 4 chapters, it's possible. But if they wanted to make a sustainable market out of it, it would be rushed and bad.
TlDr; maybe, but it would either be bad or unteresting
Revy is supposed to be Asian too, but I have no clue who would be able to play her.

I just finished Hanasaku Iroha. Pretty decent overall (one of the few Okada works I enjoyed), but why was pic related such an insufferable bitch? No wonder she has no friends.

I started it when it was airing, but only watched two episodes. I've had plans to get back to it, but the meanness of the characters in the second episode is really offputting. And the way the MC embarrases herself. It really makes it less tempting to watch. Does it get better? I hear it's a pretty good anime overall

This is unsettling.
The MC looked like a typical genki kid, the plot seemed pretty childish and naive and honestly it doesn't look like it could be taken seriously, but then it throws a nasty curve ball at you like pic related.
It's like I'm watching an action cartoon for young teens except someone forgot to put in any fun and comedy elements into it. The villain reminds me of that idiot from El Hazard except he's not funny, he's just really fucking creepy. The second in command seems like she would fit the sexy evil secretary stereotype...
