Started with shounen and CGDCT with no standards at all - introduced to mecha and revisited shows I've seen on TV as a kid - stopped watching seasonals, started avoiding the obvious bad shows from each season drastically reducing the type of anime I've started out with, rather watching classics than the new things - 70% of the anime I watch now are classics, 5-10 anime from each season, idol shows/magical girls and shows from the early 2000s I've missed.
At this point I enjoy watching shows targeted at kids more than other demographics, especially shounen and seinen.
