Each episode of Koyomi ends with "and now here's the puncline" thing
"Koyomi not being able to attend his exams" was not that suitable a punch line all things considered, there was some far more fucking dire shit going on than just that

tl;dr it's a cliffhanger ending. It's really weird seeing someone who hasn't been spoiled by future events in the series.
