Yay, it's this one. I had fun looking at this one and thinking of possibilities. I had a bunch of Lilligant/Beautifly questions.
1) Is it possible to train these abilities? If I chose one or the other, could I achieve a half-human half bug form? If I chose both could I be half bug half tree? I assume not, but it's worth thinking about.
2) So, some trees are capable of regeneration. If I were to become a tree, then use psychic powers to cut a root off of myself and keep it alive to grow another tree, would I be able to duplicate myself like the Doubledge card. I mean, I retain my mind and senses, so it's gonna hurt like a bitch, but if I can pull that off...
If I take Volbeat/Illumise, Hoopla, and Lilligant, and I planted the gender berries, would they become real plants? I mean, not that there's too much point in that, but I'm really wondering about the loophole "what constitutes a real plant?" Like, could I steal a bunch of berries from the pokemon world, get Hoopla to give me a ride home, and then plant the berries on Earth, would they become "real plants?"
The next ones aren't transformation specific.
4) I take it Milotic can change your age appearance, but not your actual lifespan. So you could use it to look younger when you become an old grampa, right?
5) Hoopa+Palkia kind of render Combee useless. I mean, sure Combee is one card and Hoopa+Palkia is two, but what are the odds you have friends that will never want a ride back. Your friends will probably be at least a little bit pissed at you. Furthermore, with Hoopla+Palkia, you can bring as many friends as you want. Or wait, that was old Palkia, wasn't it? Shoot.
6) Speaking of Combee, if I pick it, do my friends get to pick out six cards apiece as well?
7) I don't have to use all these cards immediately, right? And I don't have to use them all on myself either, do I? Actually, that's a pretty good incentive for a mystery box, if you like: cards this guy hasn't found yet.

2.) I actually didn't know about this. Your mental faculties in plant form are magical though, since plants don't have a physical nervous system or sensory organs to support you. As such, I think mutilating yourself like that would just produce an ordinary tree that would stay around after you changed back.

1) If it is a point-based CYOA and you're required to pick exactly one from a group, the cheapest option should be free.
2) Everyone hates having leftover points. Try to put in a few things that cost one point or make some sort of stat that any number of points can be used for. For example, "each point can be sold for $10,000"
3) Innovation! You should always be willing to try new and wacky things. Or at least, that's what I always do. Works for me.

4) The opposite of the tree regeneration question: Thanks to grafting and tree shaping, you can fuse two trees together, even if they're different species. Normally, I'd assume you could do that to yourself in tree form, but you'd have to do it manually or get someone else to do it for you. No problems there, just start as a regular tree, graft another tree onto you, and then be a hybrid tree until you turn back, and if you wanna be a hybrid tree you have to manually do the grafting again. Simple. My real question is this:
If you combine Lilligant+Honedge+Alakazam, and have both of you turn into trees, and then graft yourselves onto each other, what happens? Do the two of you become one again? (Would it be easier to just use Lucario and learn the Fusion Dance? Would that even work?)

I bet I find myself a member of the wards, but constantly working with the Undersiders. Power immunity is important as not only do I always have my powers, but they can't run out of juice either.

If you're in Brockton, you'll get to hang out with Dragon and Armsmaster, who are both very good tinkers, despite the fact that Dragon isn't even a parahuman and Armsy is an asshole, so your build is actually really good for the area. You might not know if you'd rather be with a Gardevoir or a human, but it can tell if you wouldn't enjoy a cross-species relationship, so it won't give you a Gardevoir if you don't pick Mew, and it won't give you a human if you do pick Mew. It will not warn you if you'd prefer a human/human or a pokemon/Gardevoir relationship.

The battlemage setting looks at least on the surface like a kind of 'Feudal war' setting - Battlemages are rare, but much more powerful than even a large number of mundane soldiers, hence they would have to have a looser command structure. The screencap I replied to was in response to Angel's building a character in the setting that was very clearly outside any command structure, and someone objected to the idea.
