Remember the browserpone script I made? Yeah, spent most of my day working on that. Fixed the bug on anonpone that changing pages kills the ponies. Added Silver into the list. Also finally made the automatic selection selectable and it works now, if anyone gives a shit.

When you don't use punctuation, your writing doesn't flow. Lack of commas and hard stops makes your writing difficult to read. Seeing as you're allegedly a college student, I'm frankly shocked you haven't learned this by now.

I don't play many quests with visible systems, so I'll just say anytime the QM allows the system to be the primary decision maker in the quest.
When the success or failure of an action is more dependent on the roll of a die than the actual merit of the suggestion, that's when I dislike a system.

To be fair, the one course of action was really dumb, and it was even dumber for no one to vote against it.
However, for that one decision to basically end the CYOA makes me sad.
We had this discussion in sekrit last night, but the ending of Heat is a good example of dice treated poorly. A single roll changed the story from good end to bad end.

Depression/anxiety, the fear that my creative writing won't be good enough, overthinking ideas until I burn out on them. Those are the usuals; might be getting a second job to add to the list shortly.
As far as systems, not a big fan of knowing about them. They can have their place and each QM probably uses them (if they do) for different reasons; just know that there's a line between using something to help in telling the story and letting it rule it or ruin it through lucky/unlucky chance.

In the specific case of endings the problem isn't so much the dice as it is the QM treating them differently.
They think that because it's the grand finale and the stakes are higher the dice rolls become more important.
They don't. If you wouldn't have killed them with one roll half way through the story you shouldn't be doing it now.
Narrative elements should increase in importance, but dice should remain the simple background function they always were.
You should also never introduce a situation where there is not chance of succeeding without rolling a dice.

If I may, a few words of sagely advice to vincent: If you have your players arguing in a loop like >>27825415 and >>27825477 , with no majority or strength of argument winning to you, it's okay to nudge towards the beneficial choice or try to steer away from a potentially catastrophic one. This seems to be one of those rare circumstances that a teensy bit of railroading might help everyone out, otherwise your playerbase is going to keep being angry at each other until a polarizing choice is made at your whim anyways.
