im in the us and have at&t. i dont really want anything smaller than what ive got now and the v10 seems like its the biggest id go which is a pretty broad range as far as i know. also, features-wise id just like a decent camera and not absolute piece of shit phone in general. i do like the htc speakers though but since i hate the m9 so much im a bit wary about the 10. still looking at it, but im not sure. fingerprint scanners look pretty neat and itd be cool to fuck around with one but thats just novelty

I'm downloading Need For Speed: No Limits as I type this. That will be without a doubt the most taxing game I'll run on this, so that'll be a good test. Just need a few minutes to try it out.
Aside from trying Hearthstone, the only other "intense" stuff I've tried with this phone is run a Nintendo 64 emulator on it - which it could run, aside from the graphics being a bit fucked up. (Though I suspect tweaking the settings could've fixed it.)

The Note 4 has all of these except the Android bit. Will I ever upgrade? The only thing I really would like to stay is the removable battery part, I love emulating on the go, but I can't charge at the same time with the PS3 controller plugged in. Spent some time with Need for Speed: No Limits. Oddly, it stuttered all the time on the menus, but the actual racing sections were smooth - shockingly so, considering how Hearthstone ran. No significant lag or framerate issues. Of course, NfS:NL doesn't have the absolute highest demand on your phone's abilities, but it's still on the higher end of the scale. I suspect toppest-of-top-end stuff won't fare well.
Overall...I don't really know how to grade the performance. It's able to handle the actual racing well - and then it stutters like crazy on the menus.

After using the 6 plus, I can't go back to non-reversible cables. Micro USB is such shit. Plugging in your phone while driving or in the dark is a pain, and the plugs break all the time. Ugh, that's really far off. My current phone (a S5) keeps freezing and I have no fucking clue why. Oftentimes I can'tell ever shut off the screen without it freezing. Trying to turn it back on just causes it to vibrate once, with the recent apps and back keys lighting up for a second or so. I have to remove the battery and reinsert it to be able to use the phone again. Sometimes this shit happens every two minutes. I no longer have a warranty on this phone either so I'm kind of SOL. I don't know if I can put up with this shit for that long.

Guys, please help me out. I was absent from the smartphone meme for several years - I honestly didn't miss 'em. I now have to get a decent phone aka fall-for-the-meme-again, because my job demands it. And if I have to do this anyway, I want to do this right. I narrowed it down to three bricks and share my thoughts:
1. Sony Xperia Z5 (not premium/like design/cheaper/like Sony)
2. Samsung S7 (expensive/ok with Samsung/hate Samsung design/expensive)
3. Samsung S7 Edge (same as 2/necessary or advisable to get the Edge over the normal S7 -> why?)
I do realize, that Sony seems a bit flawish/weaker in technical terms than the Samsung, but I like the design and it's a couple of hundreds cheaper. On the other hand I want a fire and forget solution so I won't have to look YET AGAIN for a new phone in say a year.

Not the same guy, but I briefly owned a Life One X (2016) for a couple days before the touch sensor failed. One of the games I tried was Asphalt 8. It was unplayable with audio on, constant stutters, but with audio off it was at least possible to play. Not great but much better than with sound on.
It had all sorts of problems with audio, applying effects to my podcasts caused stuttering. And if I paused a podcast, it wouldn't resume from the same place, it would jump back to near the beginning of the episode, on all podcast apps. I found one app (Podcast Addict) that has a workaround to resume properly on MediaTek chipsets.
Overall I'm glad the screen died so quickly because it was a piece of shit and I fell for the 8 core meme. MediaTek is ass.

Getting an S7 Edge tomorrow and have no idea whether to go black or silver. Does the reflective silver distract from the screen when viewing in high light areas?
I've had a Note 3 for 2 years now and I want to replace it with something that isn't held together by duct tape. Should I just get another Note 3 or should I replace it entirely? I'm willing to use anything as long as it can use CyanogenMod.

So I'm flashing Lollipop on my Galaxy Alpha SM-G850W by Sideloading via Android SDK because Samshit's KNOX fuse laughs at me when I try OTA.
My problem is the daemon has no problem starting up when I do adb devices or adb start-server but when I try to sideload the zip it gives me ADB server didn't ACK.
Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on?

People hate the S6 because there's no root support for anything past Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on OE2 Firmware without tripping Knox.
All versions before 6.0.1 Marshmallow had the terrible memory management problem which forced the user to relaunch the app completely instead of going back to where you left off using the recent apps button, which did not allow true multitasking.
Another problem is the lack of a SD Card Slot, which isn't so much of a problem depending on what kind of person you are. I don't personally mind, but people get anal about that sort of thing.
The hardware is perfect.
The software at the time of its launch wasn't.

I was debating this too and decided just to go with the black version. Although the silver does look a bit better, the black looks a bit more professional and doesn't distract from the screen. Also the color is growing on me since having it for a few weeks.
