How often does something go for the price here? Mine is mint and has everything that came with it when I bought it.
>>
>>54095446

Nothing even to swap out. You just take your sim out of your iPhone and put it in the new device.

Always goes for the going rate. Put it up for $400 if it's mint and you'll probably sell it in an hour or two. Otherwise throw it up for $420 or something, should be gone in a day.

Get your new phone and stick your old SIM from the iPhone in it. Done.

Nexus 6P, look in the unlocked section. The Nexus 6P is like the iPhone in that it's fully unlocked and works on all carriers. Bootloader is also unlocked. That's what I'd get personally.

If you can pony up $100 I'd say get an S7 if you're intereested in that. But you're squarely locked into the Touchwiz environment. Note 4 just had its bootloader unlocked the other day as well. Note 5 is a good option as well if you like big screens but want to keep it under or right at $400.

I hear the LG V10 is pretty comfy but I haven't used it yet.

TL;DR Nexus 6P

I really love the idea of the ulefone power but that Apple style home button really turns me off from this device.

Are there any other phones with similar specs and battery size?

The k10000 is too big and bulky, despite its beautiful design, and like the ht6, it's underspecced and I'm worried about performance.

the camera in the RN3P is a Samsung Isocell 16MP, and it looks like shit compared to the Mi4c's Sony IMX258 13MP. don't ask me why Xiaomi contracted with Samsung for experimental sensors. the Redmi 3's camera is quite good though (larger pixel size than the Note 3 Pro).

S7 seems to beat HTC 10 in every spec by just slightly, leaving it to be the best phone to buy right now

how much fuckery do you have to do with the s7 to get all the shit off of it?
>>
>>54094559
I didn't see the render in that last thread

And shit, if the removable battery and SD card meme came back I'm gonna hold out for the note then, but fucking hell it better be true, I'll have to get the Galaxy Alpha in the meantime
>>
>>54100099
I don't believe the removeable battery, but I want to believe.

Should I get the s7 or the s7 edge? Really not sure about it,
What do you guys think?
>>
>>54100292
Wait for the Note 6 brah.but if what an anon said here is true and the S7 doesn't have MicroSD then guck it, get the Edge
>>
>>54100324
Note's are too big imo. And pretty sure the s7 has micro sd
>>
I've avoided smartphones for a long time because I'm a minimalistic autist.
But I have to admit that I need some of the smart features my dumb phone lacks - gps+maps, a quick way to make and organize notes, image viewing, porn.
What kind of a smart phone should I look for? I prioritize battery life and small size. I like duo sim
PS: I'm from eastern Europe, Bulgaria and will use one of the local operators.

Is the s7 exynos better than the sd820 s7?

I just ordered the moto x play for 299€
Anyone here have experience or opinions about this phone?

I didn't do my usual research before buying, just a couple reviews and spec comparisons so I'm a bit concerned

My understanding is Exynos is better overall but significantly worse for gaming, if that matters.

I'll have to sell it, maybe.
>>
>>54100811
That's only for battery, is it better in performance?
>>
>>54099709
>>54099392
Honestly I'd go for the Nexus 5X if you don't care about SD/removable battery. March Nexus update really fixed a lot of the performance issues, and the N5X and the LG G4 have pretty much the exact same internals.

Nexus:
Stock android
Sane button placement
-build quality is a little worse, buttons feel flimsy

LG G4:
MicroSD
Removable battery
-LG UX
-buttons are weird
-screen has a weird curve to it
>>
>>54094559
>Tripfiend posts renders of supposed Note 6 with specs such as removable battery, 6GB RAM, etc.
Fuck me, if this is true (removable battery), I will buy one. Just give me the SD slot + IR blaster + NFC and all the shit I have on my N4.
>>
is the current moto g still a good option for a cheap phone? I currently have a 1st gen one, but I need 4G so Im getting a new phone
>>
What's a solid 4.5" phone with the best 4G capabilities and impressive battery life?

I am needing a new phone, but I don't do much "smart" stuff outside of browsing the web and using GPS.

I'd like a decent camera/video, but nothing crazy nice, just decent.
>>
>>54101431
Xperia Z3 Compact
>>
>>54101357
At this point I'd wait a little for the Moto G4.

If you can't, G3 is a fine and good phone.

Question about phones

So, I plan on taking advantage of BoostMobile's prepaid $55/mo plan, and I have a probably dumb question.

Can I use any phone I want, or does it have to come from them?

Is it just the SIM card that let's the phone know I am on x network and have x amount of data I can use, so it should work the same on any phone I put that card into?

Or does it not work like that
>>
>>54101105
Did a bunch of digging because I am interested too

The Exynos 8890 is better in performance and battery life, by a big margin.

US got cucked with snapdragon 820, get the Exynos 8890 version if you can.
>>
I'm close to getting myself a Nexus 5X, but I'm wondering if there's a similar phone that does have a mSD slot?
>>
>>54101726

>>
>>54101566

Has to work on Sprint's shit network.
>>
>>54101798
As in those coverage maps right?

I use sprint now and in my area it ain't that terrible

I just wanna make sure if I buy an unlocked phone off ebay it will be usable with no hinderances
>>
>>54101566
As long as the phone supports the bands used by the carrier it works. Use this site to check. http://willmyphonework.net
>>
>>54101886

No I mean that the phone has to be a shitty CDMA Sprint phone. See >>54101887
>>
>>54099292
Depends on coverage of networks. Currently metropcs and boost mobile are the best US carriers.
>>
I heard disabling services can help boost the battery, so I am wondering which services I should NOT Disable?

For example, things like Project Fi and Android Pay are services I have no interest in, is it beneficial to disable?

http://imgur.com/zjcfEF1
>>
>>54101566
It has to come from them. They can accepts phones that support lte bands 25, 26, and 41 BUT they probably won't. Better to just buy one of their prepaid phones on amazon (ie warp elite, zte speed, prevail lte, ect).

You should also know that boost will only give you 8GB of mobile hotspot with that plan then it becomes disabled. Also your connection can be throttled to 2-4mbps if there is very heavy load on the network after you use 23gb of data (soft cap) but will go away when network is back to normal load. But beside this you can use 20, 40, 100 or more gb of data if you want according to their ToS.

Finally as always check for coverage first.
>>
>>54102058
Damn thanks for that info, ofc it didn't say that specifically on the site, all you see is unlimited

In that case I'll probably do a cheaper option
>>
Are edge screens worth it? They look nice but I'm not sure about shelling more money for it.

>Damn thanks for that info, ofc it didn't say that specifically on the site, all you see is unlimited
>In that case I'll probably do a cheaper option
There is no cheaper option for unlimited high speed data senpai. Also it is unlimited high speed data (ie you will never get dial up speeds) but when the network is under very heavy load they will throttle your connection a little usually during the day or the weekends. I have their plan and use 50gb+ of data each month.
>>
>>54101357
zte warp elite has a bigger battery, 2gb of RAM, and is cheaper than the moto g. Catch is it only works with boost mobile. You should get that if you have sprint lte coverage instead.

Boostfag here, I decided to use a trip to better help others interested in Boost Mobile. Ask me anything regarding Boost phones and their service.

As always check for coverage first:

https://www.boostmobile.com/#!/coveragemap/

Boost phones will only work with boost mobile and the SIM slot on them is locked. Only buy them if you have good coverage where you live.

Network speed can vary from place to place but the average speed you should expect is 6.9mbps for download and 2.2mbps for upload according to the last 2,000 speed tests on http://testmy.net/hstats

No I'm not a paid shill, just someone who's had their service for a while and would like to help others if they're interested.

If you're content with Samsung owning your phone instead of owning it yourself, go for it. Might as well buy an iPhone if you're going to allow a company to control your pocket PC.

Could you imagine running a Linux distro that didn't allow you to do commands as root? A Windows installation that didn't allow you to be an administrator? That's exactly what you get when you buy phones like the S7.

Personally I like having full control over my phone, and uninstallable bloatware and disgusting skins on top of Android are simply unacceptable.

"2G" speeds can vary but usually remain in the 64-128kbps range. Assuming good networks conditions you will constantly have 128kbps or 0.9MB/minute. This is fucking dogshit and there is little you can do with such a slow speed. 360p youtube on mobile has a bitrate of around ~500kbps so expect long loading times even for a 1 minute video or constant buffering. Web pages even on mobile have become bloated and can range from 5-10MB in size.

If you like to use mobile data then I recommend you get an unlimited high speed data plan.

Note 4?
The Exynos can achieve solid SOT.

http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/iphone-6-plus-vs-galaxy-note-4

Again, on Android if you run some shitty adware/malware apps in the background like these "optimization" apps, your battery life will be kill.
Running Location in high-accuracy mode, NFC on, BT on, again, battery life will decrese significantly.

Cons:
- Snapdildo variant got plenty more roms and a more vibrant community
- Marshmallow is available officially (I am on it), but this is the last firmware for this device I am pretty sure.
>>
>>54099369
Well reviews were pretty mixed.
I also considered it, but:
- BB OS is pretty much dead.
- No apps.
- No support from app developers.

If it would cost like 50$ or something I would might buy it. but otherwise... big nope.

Even the new BB Priv got negative reviews, a huge price tag, no updates, no root, no community. So yeah.
>>
>>54099392
G4 is a solid device, but only if you just want a great solid device with a solid OS. It will work as a trusty good friend each day.

But.
- No official updates.

But yeah, that's like the only con.
LG likes updating the flagships, so you will get N and even 1-2 other major versions.

And community is also lively.
I would say buy the 6P, but you are talking about the gimped 5X which is a big nope in my book.

>>54100292
S7 Edge because of the much bigger battery.
The choice is obvious.

>>54100451
Exynos is always worse for gaming, but it's faster, battery lasts longer, heats up less, it's just better for a phone.
Again, you can play games on it - games that will lag - will not run with 60fps on SD either.

>>54101431
Z3C.
Cheap as shit, fast as fuck, got MM officially, got a community around, battery life is GOD TIER.
It lasts me 3-5 days with light use.
Heavy use gets me 2 and a half days.

(Yes you can drain it in one day of course.)
CONS;
- No removable battery - it's a shit to replace after it degrades.
- Flaps might not work out of the box, you can check it in the service menu if they are fucked, you can just get it repaired.
>>
>>54105214
So?
IF your device is affected, you take it to LG and they fix it for you.

Are you implying other devices have no issues?
Here is a few:
HTC One X:
> GPU fried itself
> Screen killed itself
> Battery went dead at one point
Been at the shop for 6-7 times.

HTC One:
> Battery killed itself
> Overheated
> Purple camera
Been at the shop around 3 times.

Z3C:
> Flaps didn't work.
Been at the shop 3 times.

S3 LTE:
> Dropped calls from one day to another
> Battery ded
> Screen corruption (GPU issue)
Been at shop for 3 times.

> Purple flashing screen
> Update caused bootloop

Note 2014 10.1
> Flashing screen
> Backplate fell off
> IR Blaster fell off
Been at the shop 3 times.

> inb4 iphone is better

> not backing up your contacts and data
What if you run over your phone?
What if you drop it?
What if it gets stolen?

Btw I am only using Onedrive (but you could use Dropbox for that matter), and Super Backup.

Onedrive saves my pictures, Super Backup saves my contacts. If I make a recording with ACR, I just copy that over manually.

If you are a tinfoil, you could use BTSync as well.
But you get the point.

> Updates
Yeah right, but if you have the community, and LG G4 has one, why can't you just use CM, or whatever? I mean the last Android update by LG will be Android N or N+1. That shit would last you 3-5 years. Implying you will use your Nexus for 3-5 years, while it has no removable battery... pls...

>>54105313
The removable battery is still there, BUT you get a pure Nexus device which means fast updates and a not bloated OS, which is really why people go with it.
