I can't speak for the Chuwi Hi8 Pro but I can say that I absolutely adore my Chuwi Hi8.
It isn't nearly as powerful as the Pro model but I find the little thing quite wonderful.
And to put "Isn't nearly as powerful" into perspective, I play the latest version of Train Simulator from steam on my Hi8, sure it's turned down to the minimum for everything but the sheer fact that I can do it amazes me.
I am really thoroughly impressed with everything except the battery life, which, for such a cheap little thing (Bought it with illicit cakebux too) isn't much of a problem.
I got the Hi8 with the case+bluetooth keyboard and a 64gb shark and I absolutely adore the little thing.

Bought it for my dad who's a basketball coach to record games and friendlies and share online with people, considering he was using a camera that used mini DV tapes (bought it in 2008, its a 2006 model or something, abysmal 480p), it's a huge improvement. Positioning is often times weird because of the ultra-wide lens, so he hasn't really used it for more than 3-4 games. Plus the season isn't as active as it was before. Gave it to a friend or something for the month to record some weddings and religious shit, can't expect that ever working out but eh.

Known better under the name: Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Mini router. I bought it because it had a nice 128 MiB flash chip which has a nice space to run various things on. Only issue is. The software that comes with it is garbage. I tried using their USB port and shares, but that failed. It added weird folders to the USB and upon re-inserting it onto my PC Windows complained it was broken even if it wasn't (some weird chink formatting?). That aside I tried OpenWRT.
Nope, that did not work well. Shame, it was the reason I ordered it. What is the issue? Inside is a MediaTek MT7612E and MT7620A for the Wi-Fi. It uses a different radio calibration procedure than the usual EEPROM in the OpenWRT driver. Hence making the Wi-Fi bad. I installed something called PandoraBox (chink fork of OpenWRT). This worked perfectly. Only issue was WAN>LAN 3 megabyte/s. WAN>WI-FI unstable 700 kilobyte/s even if super coverage. Another router does it perfectly. I don't know what goes on might be because I can't use NAT Hardware Acceleration? If any anon can help me out here I would be grateful. This router is utter trash now, I can get a speedier Broadcom ASUS for the same price that has decent Wi-Fi performance.

Yes, it's translated in English now, before it was English on the included firmware but if you updated it would turn only English. They fixed this later on so the firmware (which is shared) has English on it now. Last Friday, I received a dual-boot Hi8 Pro after Gearbest had an issue with their Windows 10 batch.
Both operating systems seem to be fully operational, with about 8GB partitioned to Android, and the rest for Windows 10.
Battery life seems alright, nothing spectacular. I have had the unit shut off on it's own, or just refuse to come back from sleep mode twice. In addition, I've had it drop from around 20-30% to 15%, and die moments later once. The headphone jack also has a whine, but it's not noticeable when audio is playing. Seems like they haven't ironed out all of their issues, though I haven't noticed any screen burn-in.
I didn't pay much for the unit after cakebux, so I'm satisfied with what I've received. Haven't tried anything major as of yet, just browsing and videos, making sure everything works.

The stock firmware is pretty amazing but I just installed openwrt for simplicity (used the stock with no issues for 1+ year, the traffic shaping management is impressive)
