I have a two part query, if that's cool. I had a long term relationship end recently due to my stubbornness and some other factors out of my control. I used to like it, but they keep adding more responsibilities and when I ask for help I am denied or pulled off my job to help somewhere else even though my work is piling up. I took the position because I thought by now they would have accommodated the pay increase I asked, and that I would've trained someone else due my tasks when I am not at work. I have not failed the class yet...I just compeled because if I actually manage to get these extra points, I would have no need to do the
"extra test" that would decide if I pass or fail completely, get it?...on my final proyect I got a bad grade, they thought I was not prepared to go to the next level, so the unfairly deducted points from other rubrics...which I compeled in hope of having not to do the extra proyect (or test).

Basically what I mean is that in order to get the best result, you need to play into their wishes and not your own. Like if you try to push for compensation for what you perceive as being wronged, they won't have sympathy. Even though it sucks to do so, you do have to kind of submit to them so they feel like being helpful instead of making it worse for you. You're at their mercy, essentially.
I don't want to say one way or the other though whether doing the extra test is better. I think you know a lot more about the people in charge and the situation as a whole, which is important in choosing how to act. My point is mostly that you need to remember that they hold the power and that emotional pleas won't work.
Do they really have much say over the final test? What if you do well in it?
