I don't know when I was 15 I went deep like super deep in the California redwoods like by car it was 8 hours to the closet town. Our group slept out on top of soft rocks by a dry river but I have this memory that UFO's landed and everyone was abducted. The most clear memory I have of this is waking up at 2AM and hearing a loud sound and opening my eyes and not being able to do anything. I don't remember the dreams or anything its just a really foggy thought but it feels like it happened. I remember the day it happened and I feel like I talked about it with the group and we all agreed it happened but that memory feels like its gone and foggy too.

it didn't seem to see me or anything and it moved super slow, it was almost like it was kneeling and then stood up proper to just turn a little bit and then squat back down, but that was enough for like 10 year old me to fuck off back to the barn and never go back down that trail again since

I went solo camping in FL at pic related, the St. Sebastian river preserve. I briefly lived in Florida for about 4 months and I had a lot of time on my hands since I didn't have a job, so I spent a lot of my time hiking here. The one time I went camping, I was at the northeast preserve yellow trail campground. The hike from parking wasn't too far, only about 2 miles. The weather was cloudy but there was no humidity as I was camping in January. When I arrived, I set up my campsite and as soon as I finished, it started to pour. It was shitty luck because the weather had been nice until that point. It rained for about 3 hours nonstop and I had nothing better to do except read and drink whiskey. Before the sun set, I was able to make some food and eat. Nothing at this point was out of the ordinary until I had drank about 6 shots and I was starting to feel pretty good. The weather took a turn for the worse and started raining again with thunder and lightning. I started hearing footsteps and the brush move around the campground. My tent had a tarp on it but at the bottom had vents that you could see through. I swear that when lightning lit up the area, I saw someone moving through the bushes. I decided to grab my sidearm and keep it loaded next to me, in case whatever it was got any ideas. I heard brush moving all night and didn't sleep at all, but didn't see anything. I'd say it was about 2am when I started dosing off. I was awakened a few moments later by an awful smell and movement outside my tent. I grabbed my gun and flashed my light directly in front of my tent when something darted directly behind the tent. I fired a shot into the air and the silence afterwards was frightening. I stayed up the rest of the night but didn't see or hear anything else. As soon as the sun came up, I packed all my gear even though it was still raining. I hurried back to my car and drove the fuck out of there. I never went back after that.
