In a container with 100 mixed nuts, 25% are cashews, 25% are pecans, 20% are Brazil nuts. If 10 are randomly selected without replacement what is the probability that 7 are peanuts and 3 are cashews? The answer is 0.0003. How is this done? I know it's with binomial distributions, and the replacement thing doesn't matter because independence is satisfied by a 10% sample size...At least, I think that's the case.

I would say, this result is wrong. It is calculating an annuity immediate (31960,88862) when really it should be calculating an annuity due (32237,3503). Nobody says they start investing in a fund at the start of the month, when they make the first payment...

your approach on the right side is correct, you just need to keep x = 0.5 sin^-1(sqrt(3)/2) because cos^2(x) is asked and use another variable, say a.
a = sin^-1(sqrt(3)/2)
sin a = sqrt(3)/2 => cos a = 1/2
Now use the identity:
cos^2(x) = 1/2 + cos(2x)/2 = 1/2 + cos (a)/2 = 1/2 + 1/4 = 3/4
let a = arcsin(sqrt(3)/2) you shouldn't compute the value of a, you should use the formula instead
then it is (cos(a/2))^2 = 1/2 + (1/2)*cos(2*(a/2))

I'm having trouble turning on my HP Windows 8.1 laptop. Whenever I press the power on button the f12 and caps lock keys light up and nothing happens. I've tried doing a hard reset on the computer but it didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix my computer?

Those would be error codes, if POST fails before the display is tested and activated HP's will flash an error code on the caps LED. Their desktops do the same, not sure about other manufacturers.
Three grouped and repeating flashes usually mean fucked RAM, continuous flashes means BIOS corruption. How many times is it flashing?

The F12 key blinks every 5 seconds for about a minute and then stops completely. This is after pressing the power button.
If I hold down the power button both CAPS and F12 will blink together once and then stop completely. I think It might be a system board problem. Thanks anon.
