that thread only specifies NES only
Also, game is Breath of Fire IIII'd recognize that blue, shit-shaped hair anywhere
Also Harvest Moon comfy as fuck
recently Donkey Kong 64 and Skies of Arcadia stood out as super comfy to me
>>3305014
BoF4 did comfy better
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
How could anyone dislike this game unless they just hate Japs?
>>3305953
Been awhile since ive played it. I just remember the story line being dark af. They are both great games.
>>3305651
I never really got why they changed the design for the "official" illustrations (left) so obviously from the designs that actually made it into the game (right). Used to drive me nuts as a kid
I dare you to find a comfier game for the PC
>>3305014
Used to love the campfire "mechanics" in them BOF games; it enhanced the overall journey/adventurey feel, and let you actually talk to your party outside the predefined cutscenes and story sections.
In confiness factor for me, it's a close tie with the dinner sequences in Grandia

Grandia was 10/10 comfy. I used to sit in front of a little bar heater, wrapped in blankets and play it as a kid.
>>3306935
This is true of every BoF game though, though 4 is perhaps the most grim
>>3306946
Fuck me. I had so much trouble trying to figure out which pixels corresponded to the manual artwork when I was a kid. What an eye opener.
Best comfy game with the comfiest music in the series.

My favorite part was getting to a new city so I could find the inn and talk to the party. And after each little story event, NPCs would have new stuff to say.

Spoiler Alert:
Wandering around in Ninas sisters entrails and organs was the most disgusting, depraved, dark thing ive ever seen in a game. That definitely scarred me for life, I remember feeling sick to my stomach.
none more comfy my friends
Also the first Spyro game, the sequels lost the comfy.
>>3306950
Someone post that Justin Mom gif
SC2k

That's a cozy tileset
I've always had a soft spot for PS1 games that show nature in a specific way, like fishing games or things like Densha de Go that have you traveling through grassy undeveloped areas. There's just something about seeing things like that in the fidelity of PS1 3D that triggers a very specific kind of nostalgia that nothing else really captures.

Some PSP games did it for me, too (pic related) but they don't really fall under /vr/'s purview.
Duke 3D.
I love Duke's bachelor pad in Hollywood Holocaust. The lighting and view makes it super comfy.
>>3305014
Spyro 2
Sonic Adventure
>>3305654
Banjo Kazooie on a rainy springtime day with the window open though.
>>3305654
Skies of Arcadia is definitely comfy. Especially when you're decking out your base.
>>3317458
This. Click Clock Wood is probably the comfiest level in existence.

I thought the post meant Paper Mario and Spyro
I'm sure OP is long gone, and that makes me sad, but I'm curious what emulator he's running and what his specs are on his phone.
>>3305014
Smartphones and tablets (normie devices) are the LEAST authentic way of doing retrogaming.
>>3317995
Nah.
>>3318039
they certainly are least authentic, but it requires that the player gives a shit about authenticity. In particular people playing on these devices do not give said shit. They're more interested in playing the games.
>>3318043
Yah.

Suddenly have an urge to play some ps1 fishing games...
>>3306962
>you will never live in a nice little cottage next to a river, within walking distance of the stadium
>>3318290
in roman times everything was within walking distance. Everything.
>>3318296
they had horses you retard
>>3317815
>>3318290
I used to live on the first floor condo of a high rise right near an estuary, walking distance from a recently-ish built hippodrome. Does that count?
>>3318305
the troops on foot? No, certainly not. Way too expensive and complicated to supply them with food and not use them in battle. Merchants? Occasionally, to pull the goods. They'd walk next to them. Many things were done on foot. It just takes a bit longer
>>3306962
>Temples all neatly ordered together
>Near the river
>Not a single plaza
>Arena near a port and ship docks
This triggers my historical correctness autism a great deal
>>3318314
Anon have you ever heard of this fabulous invention called a boat?
>>3318367
Temples were all placed at different locations with theological significance differing based on the particular members of the pantheon being worshiped were they not?
>>3317827
Bampuru.
I wish to know this answeraru.
>>3307060
