Seriously, every fucking gym is either topped by a Snorlax or a Vaporeon.
I've evolved four Eevee, and only gotten Vaporeon. I guess I should be thankful, but I live at the coast where water types are everywhere.

Honestly it seems like types run everything in this game where CP just allows you to hulk smash your way through a bad type matchup given that you're a few hundred over them. So you should be able to easily take down a 1000 Vaporeon with a 6-700 Jolteon given that you dodge at the right times.

CP is king. Even though you will defeat a Vaporeon slightly quicker, his huge HP pool makes him on equal grounds to any other pokemon you would battle, even with the 2X super effective bonus.
Not only that, this game is all about fighting multiple pokemon back to back, so having one with high amounts of HP is far more important than a weakness.
I run 6 Vaporeons and I crush everything. The only thing that hurts me is if I don't dodge special attacks from grass/electric types. I'll suffer like half my HP right off the bat.

Gyms. Go out at night when there's less people hunting gyms and stick your shitty pokemon in your teams gym. You can take on other gyms if you wish but that usually takes longer.
Get as many as you can. I usually have around 10 gyms assigned before I collect. That would be 100 gold coins and 10.000 dust. In one day.

What should i do with this one?
Is there a difference in the max CP two of the same Pokemon can reach? Like if I caught one Pokemon at level five with 50 CP, and another at level ten with 150 CP, would they both max out at the same CP? Or would the 150 CP pokemon have more once maxxed?

Found out that grimmer and Muk spawn at the city dump today.
Took a trip there today to drop off some cleared brush.
Google maps apparently marks landfills as a different area and this is the only place I have seen them spawn.

Tangela and gloom shreds eevee. I also have a kingler with 12dmg mudslap (ground). Vaporeon is not very effective against it. Flareon is wrecked by its primary attack, and fire nor very effective. Kingler laughs off Jolteons 5dmg attack and hits back with super effective ground primary in turn.

Its definitely high for your level. But you will find higher soon enough. If you want to start doing gym runs, go for it. Otherwise save the candy. What to make it depends on your area and whats common. Here we have nothing to counter water other than jolteon and everything else is fire or rock.
I wouldnt power it up though, just evolve. Better off saving candies for another evolution.
Finally i recommend you start evolving the flak you catch like pidgeys. They give a lot of exp for the candy you put in and it will help raise levels faster.
I noticed that it cost less stardust to power up my Vaporeon. I have a Vaporeon and a Flareon, both at the same CP. It cost 1900 CP to power up Flareon, and 1600 CP for Vaporeon. What's up with that?

Actually it's the opposite. XS in weight = good. And guess XL in height = good. In any cae height and weight ARE important.
Case in point, look at the Youngster medal. An obvious reference to Joey, and I sure hope we all know what Joey is about if you're not a secondary.
The medal ask you to have a less than 1 in weight Rattata, which is an XS most of the time if not every time. When I did check with my rattatas and pokemons in general, the XS ones in weight were better. Which kind of make sense a fat pokemon will have an harder time dodging. And I theink in height's case it also influences a variable but in the opposite way but god knows whicch one (probablly attack?)
But yeah a pokemon with less weight = more hp.
Anyone has this REALLY ANNOYING bug? Since 3 days EVERY.SINGLE.POKEMON has 3 steps. No matter how close they are even if they are just ON ME. And it' not just a small bug or whatever, it's really EVERY SINGLE ONE. I tried to manage without this and just with the grid (which look like it does pretty much whatever it wants too but at least it's still more reliable than the steps) but, well. So I spoofed my location on Nox app player with the lockito app and I'm camping a place where I can reach 2 pokestops with lures. But I only encounter pokemon when I start up the app and no more after that.
The only way to find more pokemon is to keep restarting pokemon go.

spawns are based off of XM in ingress, if you download ingress you can see where pokemon spawn where XM is. spookily, XM is centred most around pokestops, which is why so many pokemon are there.

Been that way here too. When you turn on the gyro compass after choosing what you want to track, spin 360 slowly. A green ring will show up around the track box once youre facing the right direction.

The gyro compass is just the compass in the top right. When you tap it you are switching between gyro direction, and just rotating by sliding around your character.

When you're soft banned, your encounter rate isn't affected at all, but when you try to catch pokemon, you will always fail, and after the first failure they'll disappear. In addition, pokestops will never give you items. From what I've experience, soft bans last about 2, or maybe 2 and a half, hours. if you want to catch large quantities of pokemon, you lure and incense at a pokestop. even better if you can find 2+ pokestops that overlap where you can sit in the middle of them.
if you want to hatch eggs, you go out on foot or on a bike or whatever and just get those kilometers in.
I caught a 1300 Dragonite today in the wild, so I'm feeling pretty good even with the servers down.

i walked around for 3 hours this morning at 3am cause i woke up hungover and felt like it. i caught a hundred pokemon, leveled 3 times, evolved some to max evolution, hatched 3 eggs, used 3 incense, and passed 3 lured stops and hundreds of non lured. i went from housing communities to a shopping district to downtown to near my work and back home before my phone died. you have to actually stand in one spot for a few minutes for that area to load, the spinning pokeball in the top left shows its loading

For the record, my GF renamed her eevee to rainer last night and did in fact get a vaporeon. It could of just been luck, but considering the amount of positive accounts, and my own, im assuming that maybe the nicknaming simply heavily increases the chance to get your evolution of choice?

Evolving your pokemon makes them a much higher CP than one you'd catch in the wild, generally.
I caught a Venomoth with 200cp, then later evolved my 400cp Venonat into a 845cp Venomoth.
