Candies are evo line specific items that can either be used to increase your pokemon's CP or evolve them, depending on how many you have. So Zubat candy works for either Zubat or Golbat, for example.
Stardust applies to all pokemon and is only used to increase CP. The higher the CP of your pokemon, the more Stardust you will need to upgrade them, so be sure to stockpile that shit and only use it once you have a pokemon that's already close to its maximum CP (see the half-circle bar above its number) AFTER evolving. You have to be really stingy with it .
Go to your Pokemon list and swipe to the left. This shows the eggs you have in your inventory. Tap on one to start incubating it. Everyone gets one incubator that has infinite uses, but you can either buy a 3-use one, or get one at certain Trainer level ups
And yes, everyone benefits from lures placed at Pokestops.
If I have 2 Pokemon of the same species, and both are XL and both have the same moveset, does it matter which one I evolve? Are there other things to consider, besides their CP?

Went to a Go Meetup on facebook today near a lake by my house.
Shit was actually pretty cool since I'm used to the anime convention crowd. Lots of people who I could tolerate being around and lures everywhere. A lot of cute normie grills. Everyone yelled when we found a Gyarados by the fountain. Got myself a Rhydon and a Slowbro too, and the whole event got me to level 14. I've got control of the bridge's gym right now.

Jolteon is a good electric type. Lapras and Jynx are rare, but you can find them if you're lucky. I haven't seen anyone with a Seel or Dewgong yet, but I guess they're out there? You can find Pikachu in the wild and Electabuzz can be found in the wild or come from eggs. There's also Voltorb and Magnemite. Rock types are good against Pidgeot, too though. My Graveler fucked up a Pidgeot real good today. But all of the Pokemon I mentioned are kind of hard to find, so I think that there's a reason most of the gyms have Pidgeots...

I'm pretty sure that too "hardcore region exclusives" would be a VERY bad thing. It would kill the diversity for a lot of people who cannot do 150 km for a fucking pokemon, which will not be good publicity. Rather than exclusivity, "more common in [x] " (like right now where water pokemons can spawn in the subway) would be way wiser and less annoying for most players. If they want to touch a lot of players, screwing some of them from the very beginning isn't a good thing.

I personally don't think that will happen. That is very important to the main game but the engine that powers the gameplay in go is catching pokemon. Trading in go would add problems not available in the main game:
1. It would create a game economy that would be bad for players and bad for the in game market.
2. Following 1 it would also make items (assuming they could be traded too) a second currency that ruins a lot of games.
3. It would allow people to carried like in a lot of multiplayer games.
I want to see more player interaction but not trading. The closest to trading I think should be added is just finding pokemon in an area where a player with said pokemon has been. I have a pikachu, if I go to a park other people will be able to catch pikachu.

My group have been playing since launch and we have found that there have basically been three major "types" of spawns: parks/rec areas have an abundance of bug type and grass type Pokemon, urban areas/arts/downtown favor normal and common animal types like eevee, growlithe, ekans, koffing etc and areas near water spawn water type Pokemon.
And by types, I mean these are the most common types of spawns whereas rarely just about any type can spawn around you.
If you are standing in shaky grass the rate of rare spawns seems to go up.
In addition to this, whatever location you start your game at gets registered as your "home", and all the common types that spawn here are: pidgy, rattata, golbat in addition to whatever above type your in.
Fire, electric, ghost, Ice, psychic, (outside psyduck and bug/psychic types) and the high end normal seems to be just rare spawns.

I don't live in the coastal part of Georgia, but we've got some diversity in the part where I live. Commonmons are Spearow, Pidgey, Caterpie, Zubat and Weedle.
Uncommon: Venonat, Pidgeotto, Psyduck, Magikarp, Jigglypuff, Eevee, Golbat, Nidoran M/F, Poliwag, Goldeen, Staryu, Slowpoke, Koffing
Rare: Weezing, Dratini, Rhyhorn, Tentacruel, Pinsir, Scyther, Primeape, Venomoth, Beedrill, Butterfree, Growlithe, Graveler
Those are just the Pokemon that I've seen or caught. There may be more. I hope that helps you.

If anything it might be because when you beat the gym it loads it on the map, and they have to update the entire map. But you've seen how good their servers are, so it can't handle doing that.

I thought this game had some kind of invisible stats based on the Pokemon itself. I can have a slow Pokemon like Graveler with a weak attack attacking way slower than a fast Pokemon like Rapidash with a stronger attack.
