Today was great. I got a Pinsir, Jigglypuff, Growlithe, Graveler, and I hatched a Jynx from a 10km egg. I "caught" an Exeggcute, but then the game froze. When I opened the app again, my eggmons were gone. RIP.

Oh wow. That's fantastic. I've been looking for a Dratini, but no luck so far! There's a Beedrill 3 paces away from me right now, but I'm never going to get it... I'm just getting a lot of Weedle candies right now. Riding on a bus is actually an amazing idea. It's a cheap way to get around, it's air conditioned, and it goes slowly enough and makes enough stops that you can probably actually catch Pokemon and go to Pokestops. Thanks for the tip!

The next gen to be added will be 6. Nintendo/Gamefreak will try to justify it by saying that it's to celebrate Pokemon's history, having a game with the first and most recent Pokemon before Sun/Moon releases. They want to give normies a chance to "catch up" in a sense in regards to what new Pokemon are like. They know that introducing new Pokemon to them in casual shit like this is the best way to accept them faster.
After Gen 6 will be Gen3 because ORAS. 2, 3, and 5 aren't currently planned for release in the sense that Niantic hasn't actually put any solid thought into it yet.

Places where pokemon spawn more frequently.
They're not exact, but I've noticed a few places within about 200 yards of my apartment where pokemon generally show up after appearing on my radar. With a little walking I can narrow down to which spots I need to check for specific pokemon.
i.e.

After extensive testing, my and my friend figured out that this is what happens when two people try to capture the same Pokemon at the same approximate time.
One gets it, the other freezes and gets it later through a delayed update, if the catch was successful.
Our solution was to coordinate and let each other know what we're catching and when. Once on of us was out of the catch screen, the other was safe to tap and enter.

You can spin the ball in circles before throwing it, or just draw a curved line starting from the corner. If the curve ball lands inside the circle you get the curve ball bonus.
I get those accidental curve balls too. The game is registering you twisting your line a bit when you release. Just try doing shorter faster lines to keep them straight.

Gotcha. I didn't think it was legit, but you never know. 10 isn't a great sample size, plus I don't believe that they even tested 10, honestly. The game has only been out for a small amount of time, and it takes a decent amount of Eevee Candy to evolve Eevee, so unless you were drowning in Eevee or something, it would take a really long time to get 10 Eevee to evolve.

Save a bunch of them, use a lucky egg, then evolve all of them at once. That gives you 1000 exp for each evolution.
I think I evolved like 10-15 pokemon with lucky egg earlier today when I went from level 15 to 18.

What I learned
Pokemon spawn nodes are different based on location, not based of stuff near it though, if you walk to a neighborhood right next to you you could get a shit ton of ponyattas. Like down the road from me theres a shit ton of clefariries.
Night and day doesn't make much of a difference for clefairies and ghastly, but I do see more at night.
If you not near a pokestop you should probably stop playing. The pokemon spawn outwards from a pokestop and the rarer mons seem to crop farther away you get from the stop.
If you live in an area with multiple roads you will find more nearby due to them spawning on each of the roads.
Internet access may heavilly affect the amount spawned, same with the server load. At night I've seen a lot more pokemon everytime I've refreshed, but that was with me in a city with a clearer reception. Even then, I went out to the boonies at night and still found a full page everytime I hard reseted the game.

Right now I have it in a semi-working state on Android 6.0.
You need to be rooted and have the xposed framework installed. I'm using the Mock Mock Location, and Root Cloak exposed modules to block apps from seeing that I'm rooted and have mock location turned on in Developer Settings.
From there I'm just using some shitty Fake GPS app to spoof my location. It's not perfect, and usually only puts me at Pokestops long enough to get items and maybe start an encounter before sending me back to my actual location. I've tried messing around with various location settings, but haven't really found an optimal setup. Still works for the most part though.

I am absolutely certain that there is no other place in my entire town to catch tangelas. Feels good because they show up strong, are supposedly rare, and my neighborhood is tiny so it's amazing how small their location is.
I think the servers have been slow because my nearby locator updates really slow.
Also I've noticed that mons tend to pop up in the same places (every time I go to the local gas stop there are four pokemon waiting). Since as I go up and down my neighbor hood I'm always stopping at the same spots. Also I've had the game freeze on me a few times while catching mos,so I just force stop the app and log in again.

Pokemon seem to spawn near pokestops and streets. The more stops that intersect mean alot more diverse pokemon will spawn in that area. Their cp is dependant on your trainer level. For instance, a level 5 trainer and a level 12 trainer may both see a rhyhorn, but the level 12 trainer's rhyhorn will most likely be much higher in cp.

Wild Pokemon appearance rate should be inversely proportional to how many pokestops/gyms are in the area.
That way you go to towns and such to stock up on supplies and compete, but you go into "the wild" for training and pokemon catching.

This. There should be a reason to visit the opposite for different goals. I need Pokemon, I have to go out to the wild. I need items/supplies I have to go into town. Shitmons will always apply to both goals.
