They wasted an awesome type combo last gen on Dedenne. Thankfully they've rectified that with Tapu Koko. They are not above wasting interesting type combinations at all, really. Look at Surskit and Nincada (when it came out, and even after Wormadam came out it's not like that was any better). Vikavolt even could even end up being a Bug/Flying despite its name (like Masquerain even though it has "rain" in its name). Anything like that could happen this gen, and it's all but guaranteed at least one thing will. I hope it's not Cutiefly, though.

Bee flies are parasitoids that lay their eggs near the nests of actual bees. When the fly larvae hatch, they search out and devour any nearby bee eggs and larvae. I hope that this is referenced with Cutiefly or its evolution.
