For what conceivable reason is the third legendary based off the planet Mars?

The "shadow" part seems to suggest it will be a Fighting/Ghost or Fighting/Dark type. Assuming the Fighting type is a given that is, which I think it is.

It's probably not Mar as in Mars, but Mar as in spanish for sea. The other legendaries have spanish in their name.

I can't think of any reason that mars would be the inspiration for the last member of the trio besides the "Mar" in its name.

If that's the case, and if the idea is that the "shadow" in Marshadow is a reference to an eclipse, then why not have the third legendary be a personified Earth which is crucial to the cause of eclipses? Why use a random planet like Mars which has absolutely nothing to do with the Sun and Earth's moon?

Solgaleo and Lunaala are based off the Balinese myths Barong and Rangda.
