I think the idea behind it is brilliant though, and there's not really any other way to visy represent it off the top of my head. I think maybe if it was permanently in its hair raised pose it's look more distinctive and get another part of its basis more readily apparent, but Gamefreak has been big on designs that have hidden "Easter egg" aspects nowadays to take advantage of constant in battle animations since BW (the reason Oshawott has the scallop on its stomach for example) so I can't say I don't understand why that wasn't its default.
